In this scenario after Obi Wan Kenobi cuts off must of Anakin's limbs. And Anakin is frying like a slab of Bacon on the ground. He is suddenly beamed up to the sickbay on the Enterprise E. They were brought to the Mustafar System by Q. They still thought they were exploring a Planet in the Beta Quadrant. Finding an injured Anakin on the surface they decided to render aid. After sedating him they set about in treating his wounds. He is in a medically induced coma for the better part of a month. But after he wakes up he finds he now has a new Cybernetic body and they he is nolonger in the Star Wars Galaxy anymore. He is at a Hospital on Earth. Vader is confused and don't know how to process what has taken place. How does Vader deal with his new situation. How does Starfleet interact with Vader? How much amusement does Q get from all of this?

Special Note: The events of this scenario take place between Star Trek First Contact and Star Trek Insurrection. The Dominion War is still raging. Vader while angered finds he can't use the Force against any Starfleet personnel. His rage is also being dampened by Q. Q also made sure that the Enterprise crew did not know it jumped universes. As far as they are concerned if was a normal mission.

I'd imagine Anakin would be suicidal.
  • He was a slave who then got the dream ticket to join the Jedi Order. He spent 10 years in it being told he was the Chosen One and fighting on the frontlines in the legendary Clone War... only to not get a seat on the Council. Feeling humiliated, he betrayed and murdered his entire order on the promise of attaining power within a new Empire and saving his wife.
  • The Empire he fought for is nowhere in sight. His benefactor is gone. He has no home to return to. No one knows of his exploits and thinks he's just some random guy.
  • His wife and children are dead. (Last he checked, he choked his pregnant wife on a volcano planet, and the Enterprise didn't find her).
Losing your wife and child would crush someone. Anakin faces that, and then some. And as far as he knows, it's all his fault.

Assuming he doesn't die, I think he'll probably try to find something to fight for. He was really good at warfare. He was a general during the Clone War, after all, and a skilled combatant. Warfare and engineering are his only real talents, but Anakin seems to be egotistical enough that he'd probably chase after glory again, so warfare is the way to go. Fortunately for him, there are three factions he can join:
  • Join Starfleet. The Federation Is similar to the Republic, but less corrupt and more worthy to fight for. Is also the most powerful power in the Alpha Quadrant. Unfortunately, it would be difficult for him to assume a high ranking position, as he would have to slowly get promoted up the ranks. The war might be over before he can become a captain or an admiral.
  • Join the Maquis. Anakin can emphasize with downtrodden people like them. They have the most righteous cause of any faction in the Star Trek setting. He would be sung as a hero among their worlds. Unfortunately, they don't have the mass industry to compete against the other powers, so Anakin would really need to pull off miracles to actually achieve anything in the long term. Also, while Anakin might be famous among Maquis worlds, he won't become famous across the entire Alpha Quadrant (like if he joined the other factions).
  • Try to join the Klingon Empire. They value martial strength, and dueling your way up the hierarchy is culturally accepted. He would have to overcome the fact that he is a human, but if he can act like a Klingon then he will do really well here and become a high ranking warlord with a clan of his own. However, the Klingon Empire engages in slavery, which Anakin might fiercely reject to. Or he could try attaining power to reform the Empire's culture, but being a human he might not be very successful.

I think this all depends on if Vader thinks he can get back to the SW galaxy.

It also depends on if the Enterprise beamed Vader up and sedated him fast enough to have kept him from accidentally draining Padme's life-force like he did in OTL. If Starfleet got to him fast enough, Padme might have survived childbirth.

So now Anakin/Vader would be stuck somewhere he is rather powerless, while also likely somewhat panicked because he has no idea what happened to Padme or his children.

That could go a lot of ways.

I could see this happening rather easily; of course that also means Anakin could end up in Chacotay's crew and stuck in the Delta Quadrant with Voyager, which brings a whole other host of issues together.

Well, first off, his cybernetics and therefore quality of life will be way better, possibly even approximating or exceeding biological capacities aside from the Force.

There is one faction that has been left out. The Bajorans. Information about the Prophets might peak Anakin's interest. He might take a trip to Bajor. And him being him literally get contacted by the Prophets. That could have some interesting Butterflies down the road indeed.

They might not even be prosthetics once a Federation doctor is done treating him.

In one episode Dr. Bashir temporarily removed Quark's "sausage and two olives" while in another Sisko said "I miss the fangs" after he'd been doctored to pass for Klingon.

On the other hand, Nog's leg remains mechanical.

I thought it was biosynthetic? Wouldn't surprise me if it was mechanical, though, as the writers retconned the setting every other episode. The Vietnam episode pretended that the amazing tech we saw in TNG didn't exist, or otherwise the episode wouldn't have had the grim war movie feel it was going for, as the guys on the planet would have been easily able to replicate whatever they needed (showers and new clothes would have been nice!), detect and disarm the mines, reshape the underground tunnels to protect themselves from the incoming troops or create a maze, etc.

Seige of AR-558?

That, along with pretty much any ST episode where a comm failure is treated castrophe is a WTF?

Hmm......

Anakin gets beamed up, still limbless and partially on fire, scream about how he hates Obi-Wan.

Trio: "Captain, I sense much anger from this man."
Picard: "Thank you counselor, your insight has been as invaluable as always."
