seth rogen will voice Bebop, a character who is a black character. you won't hear anything about that however.

Does being a mutant override Bebops race? Isn't he technically a warthog now?

I could see seth rogan voicing a pig. Haha

That's not Bebop. That's supposed to be April O'Neill apparently. Seth Rogan must've done motion capture. I know, it's hard for me to tell them apart as well with the new art style. It's a very brave choice.

I mean, he is the face of them. As far as her complaint, I'm a little confused, because she did a lot to solidify herself as a sex symbol outside of PotC, including how she went out of her way to share a topless pic of herself in order to complain about how some marketing person photoshopped her boobs on the poster of one of the Robin Hood movies (IIRC) to make them look bigger. She's had nude or topless scenes in a lot of movies, so seeing her complain about PotC is kind of surprising and confusing. If she was only complaining about being typecast or basically just being stuck in that role, I could understand that, but the rest? 🤷‍♂️

I don't actually remember her being greatly sexualized in the PotC movies, unless she means "It was visually obvious I was a young attractive woman"...? No great scenes of nudity or lewdness that I can think of, so what's her issue? I mean, aside from "I'm a has-been that has not been in a blockbuster for half a decade"?

…They need to stop letting Seth Rogan do…anything really.

But they really need to stop letting him head his own projects.
Whatever happened to that Santa film (Show?) he was making?
All I remember of it was it being downvoted to hell and back, and making the term 'elves' into a synonym.

She's 37 years old. Right now she's in the middle of the standard metamorphosis Hollywood Starlets go through at that age, where they switch from showing their bold rejection of the Patriarchy's control by selling on their youth and sexiness to bemoaning how the Patriarchy controlled them and forced them to sell on their youth and sexiness, and especially how awful it is that there are new younger starlets who are being deluded into thinking they're boldly rejecting the Patriarchy by selling on their youth and sexiness (and being rotten skanks who are snatching up all the roles the formerly-youthful Starlet got).

Hell of a hit piece here. Love how they call it "Johnny Depps" Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

As if he wrote, produced, and directed the whole thing.

Yeah the Author of the article is retarded and ascribing things to Keira Knightley she never said. And implying other things...

Despite Elizabeth Swann’s feisty nature and fighting skills, she was still seen as a s*x symbol, and this label was something that Knightley found difficult to shake off.

Despite?!

Despite?!?!?!1

You mean because of.

Who the hell watches Pirates and is like "Oh I love Keira Knightley as Elizabeth Swann except for the whole talking and doing stuff. Why can't she be just standing there looking pretty for six hours like an Instagram model."

The "only" thing that makes her distinct from every other Hot Girl in the public eye is her character you overpaid journalistic nonce! There's like millions of hot girls who can be "Sex Symbols" out there but only one of them is Elizabeth Swann.

Eh, if you go back to the original article this one's scraping she really does say that. She spends quite a bit of time bemoaning getting old and wishing she had her 22-year-old days back, she's going through the normal female actress midlife crisis now.

It's kinda worthy of eye rolling, given that she's still absolutely gorgeous. Certainly didn't change for the worse in a way like, say ScarJo has.
A bit, to be sure Hollywood starlets tend to be the top 5% most beautiful humans so they tend to look really good no matter what.

It's usually less about that, though, than about money. Regardless of looking gorgeous compared to average Janes, it's hard for an actress in her 40s to compete with fresh young actresses who are also in the top 5%. This means the acting roles are either going to be as the star in lower-budget affairs that want star power but can't afford the fresh young starlet, or taking a secondary role as the mother, teacher, wise old nanny, or another role where she's no longer the star but just supporting the stars that supplanted her.

And for somebody who's been the star and raked in millions, both options are bitter. People don't compare themselves to the average, they compare themselves to their peers and superiors. She's almost certainly not thinking about how much ridiculously better off she is than 99% of the world, she's thinking about how those younger starlets are getting better roles, just as the guy flying first-class isn't thinking about how much better his accommodations are than a bus ticket, he's wishing he owned a private jet.

Eh the article doesn't seem too bad. Last two paragraphs were about growing older and I don't know if I'd consider it "bemoaning." She brought up Madonna as an example of negative perceptions of aging (though to be honest Madonna actually looked pretty good IIRC especially for her age until recently and that was due to the plastic knife work) and then brought up Helen Mirren as a more positive example negating the prior point.

If she was only complaining about being typecast or basically just being stuck in that role, I could understand that, but the rest? 🤷‍♂️

I think your right in that it's an issue with typecasting. Jessica Alba, years ago mentioned something similar. For those that don't know, Jessica Alba is both a filthy Hollywood leftist celebrity but also AFAIK a pretty big Christian traditionalist with the family life and a litter of kids she spawned and a lot of her work beyond film is focused on motherhood stuff like promoting her Honest brand of baby products etc. But when she was younger she bemoaned that she was being typecast for roles and apparently contrasted herself with Natalie Portman, stating she doubted she was being given the same offers as her. Keep in mind, she still did steamy photoshoots even while nerds were bemoaning her 'no nudity' clause in contracts. God forbid you are a young celebrity with sex appeal and don't make money off of it.

With Keira, apparently she was bemoaning not just the potential typecasting but also 'burnout' from it whilst being in her twenties. Unlike Jessica Alba maybe, who would comment about being typecast, then go with it because it's a job, she's meeting demand and she wants to make money I'm assuming, Keira was both going into marketing her sex appeal with the aforementioned roles and stuff she picked, but also wanting to manage her image by ALSO pursuing more artsy and fulfilling projects like Atonement and Pride & Prejudice etc and being a celebrity feminist.

Which I guess could cause burnout considering, as much as I love dunking on privileged celebrities, I am sure a lot of them work really hard actually. Keira I guess never seemed like someone who would phone it in.

I tend to find that beautiful actresses complaining about middle age often failed to use their astonishing looks in youth to secure a long term partner.

From the article, and to Keira's credit IMHO, it looks like she is married and has kids and despite the lifestyles of the two, they are actually involved in the care of their children instead of just having kids they can fob off on Nannies. She apparently took some time off of her career for her own (and families benefit) apparently as well. So I'll give props to her on that. Also... apparently she has no personal social media accounts, which is just absolutely lovely. :) I mean not even an Instagram where she shows non-controversial pictures of her food and pets like Alexandra Daddario.

Overall, since I have no idea what Keira Knightley has been doing since The Imitation Game I'll say what I learned recently actually elevated my opinion of her, for whatever that's worth. Despite being a generic celebrity feminist, she hasn't gone full bore annoying like Emma Watson.

X-Men '97 looking to be shaping up nicely.

Thank goodness. A perspective from a Gay Black Man.

Mainstream media legitimately seems really invested in making Black oriented media as Gay as possible I've noticed, moreso then other groups IMHO.
