"Woke" Franchises

Yeah, I think the process got mimetically cross-pollinated with Sarah Hoyt's "Roll Hard Left and Die", when they are referring to two different processes in two different media.

“In the end, we win, they lose. And part of it is the roll left before dying. But, until then they’re going to be very annoying.
Now go work, because I’m going to, also.”

Well, that’s pretty simple

Holy shit look at this mess:

The only thing this game "Vali-Dates" are the stereotypes. All of them.

Two years ago, I might've recommended some enterprising shitlords make a hilarious parody of this style of game ...

Given how many times I've heard shitlib "game designers" say they don't actually enjoy playing games and just want to use them as a vehicle for woke morality plays and deviant wish fulfillment, I'm surprised we don't see a lot more "visual novels" (digital choose-your-own-adventure picture books) along the lines of ValiDate.
Funny thing is, a woke game similar to what you describe already came out now 3 years ago:

It's a (I swear I saw the creators use this description) "Japanese-inspired" visual novel about immigrants in a foreign country. It seemed to have the same "woe is me, how self-referential we are" tumblr writing style as this one. Somehow avoided being review-bombed by edgelords on Steam like I'd expect it to be.

CBR said:
As stated before, simplicity is the key with Mary Jane Watson, and no outfit she has ever worn was more simple than this one. Recreated countless times in cosplay, this barebones ensemble is the product of J. Scott Campbell, from the cover of Amazing Spider-Man #601 back in 2009.

As popular as it is with some, this image also inspired criticism for depicting an otherwise strong and capable character as stuck at home worrying about her husband, while at the same time sexualizing her in a way that is too common for women on comic book covers.

I love this art. My one quibble is that it seems like the boob is fading into the arm, and part of the arm looks missing. I get that the proportions are probably correct, but it looks weird, and distracts from the picture. But the message the art sends is amazing. It's like it's telling a lot of the story without words.

Honestly, I wonder why anyone even bothers with these sorts of sites, they’re more concerned with “social commentary” than if a product is fun or not

Or they confuse the two together and look down too much on “fun” or nicely drawn women and such

CBR is not where you go for any real information. They just make stupid lists to get clicks. They pop up in my feed all the times with 10 best moments, or ten things that Lily in How I Met Your Mother couldn't do today.

Really most of those sites are just Gawker lite sites that spam lists.

But I have seen one of the wokes shows I have seen in a while. Netflix has made the Baby Sitters club into a T.
V. Show.

They diversified the cast some but have not made a big deal about it So that is mainly just background noise to me. The child actors are pretty decent and they do keep a lot of the stlye choices including things like the see though phone that all 90s kids know. I also liked the way they handled being a child diabetic. It was a nice change of pace form a kids show only dealing with things like cancer.

But then you have the wokeness

They had ten episodes and each one makes sure to put 8n the weakness. From the fact Krisygoes on about how her mom is betraying feminism for remarrying. It does not matter that step father is actually a nice guy that tries to help the kids and makes sure to treat her respect. No there is not an epsoide that goes by without Kristy making a comment about how her mom needs no man.

They had to have the trans episode that has taken the ace of the gay coming out in teen and young adult shows. They have an 8 year old be trans including a trip to the hospital where Mary Ann 5ells ten doctor what what.

They have a camp twonlarter about their fight for social justice at the camp.

They include feminist drum circles with snapping becasue clapping is evil.

I should not be surprised but they managed to fit a lot into a short season and every epsodie has background to main plot of Social Justice issue of the week.

Honestly, I cringe when people say SJWs don’t exist

Even further if I show them this stuff, that’s actually out in the open, they redirect stuff and lay the blame on Right Wingers and such

Best just go for older stuff for now

Oh, lovely. They've sent me a mo-ron.

From this as an example if franchises get duped into changing names would it work for a scam to seize the old name for branding seizure?

That actually looks interesting. The idea of a bunch of teenaged illegal immigrants in Europe showing up in a WW2 bunker and starting shit as the post apocalypse begins...

Also, all the girls actually look fuckable, unlike Validate.

I'll try trading for it and possible review it if I pick it up.

Okay I do kinda have a problem with this one, but it's because the shape of the steam on the coffee cup, it's position, and her hands on it seem really... suggestive.

And not the fact that her breasts are thicker than her waist?

Seriously, with those proportions, she'd need a corset not to fuck up her spine.

At least its not at body horror levels yet:

Yes, that's fucking real. Some women trying to break the world record have literally had their ribs removed.

Though, MJ is probably close enough to this that she might've had her ribs removed. She just has bigger breasts.

Ehh... vague handwave... She's impressively busty by real-life standards for sure, but having a bust wider than the waist isn't actually all that uncommon in real life. Compare Marilyn Monroe:

U3DDQ.jpg

Mary-Jane is supposed to be a remarkably beautiful model in the first place, and I don't object to stylized art in comics, the women are generally busty and beautiful and the men are ripped enough that somehow they have clear muscle definition through a spandex outfit.

Incidentally I measured how many pixels MJ's three measurements are, her bust is 51 pixels, her waist about 43 (it's slightly behind her arm so I had to estimate) and her hip about 69 (same problem). Marilyn Monroe has a 148 pixel bust and 107 pixel waist and we can't see her hip. Corset Girl in your picture is 216 bust, 121 waist, and 258 waist. MJ is actually the least deformed of the three by a very wide margin, though her posture exaggerates it a great deal.

Pixel count is not accurate. We're looking at Corset Girl and Marilyn Monroe head on as they stand straight.

We're looking at MJ from a weird angle as she sits in an unnatural position.

Pixel count's as good as it's going to get when we only have a pixelated image to work with. If anything the weird angle is going to make her ratio look worse than it really is given that she's also leaning backwards on her heel, which will force her back to curve and make her waist look thinner than it is.

What the fuck? That looks unnatural.

It looks unnatural because it is.

There are a few women who compete over the "thinnest waist in the world" title. Requirement include having your lower ribs surgically removed and wearing a training corset 24/7.
Shit.

Trying to imitate ideal feminine beauty? What looks pleasing in 2D doesn't always work in 3D.
