I would love to see a movie, series, comic book, or book where that was actually the case, just to hear that crowd ree.

I Care A Lot
Sociopathic con artist charecter Marla (the protagonist) uses a compromised, corrupt doctor to lie about their patients mental state to convince the court that her elderly patients are mentally unstable so she can become their legal guardian, stuff them in the cheapest retirement homes possible and take all their estate profits and as much of the money for keeping them alive as she can embezzle. Unfortunately for her, she tries this trick on what turns out to be the mother of a russian mob boss. Then we get hit pieces treating her as an inspirational Gurlboss™ and complaining about the disturbing symbolism of a man wearing a red baseball cap murdering a successful businesswoman.
This is the same faction that considers VVitch a very pro-feminist movie. The horror-movie. Where the protagonist sells her entire family out to the Devil and joins a coven to become a witch.

That is a ridiculous mischaracterization of the article.

Its pretty clear that the authors primary point was that he saw "I Care A Lot" as a show warning about the dangers of greed and how unchecked greed could lead to violence.
No, there was tons of apologetics and constant claims that any hate pointed at her were misogyny.

You're welcome to your own truth. Here's evidence.

She is a monster with a sunshine smile....

With strong undercurrents of misogyny, Feldstrom is slaughtering a successful woman… yet honestly it is hard to imagine anyone having much sympathy for her.

It’s bleak reptilian logic she uses

She is the personification of the bottomless appetite of American capitalism, and she is so unflinching in her avarice that she can win over other sharks who recognize a fellow predator.

But Marla and Feldstrom? They’re not equals or even on the same playing field. Marla surmises at the beginning of the movie that you’re either lion or lamb, predator or prey. She fed on Feldstrom and his mother until there were only scraps of bone left. And I Care a Lot’s real final conflict is about how long that power dynamic can last until the whole system collapses. It did for Marla.

Before the movie even started, Marla was a lost cause of a human being.

Like, if you read that article and think its about apologetics for Marla, you either didn't read the article, you have terrible reading comprehension, or your blinded by your tribalism and desire to otherize those you perceive to be enemies.

As if Communism would be any better. At least with capitalism, you have a chance of getting a caring retirement home.

I mean, as far as I can tell it's fictional and I don't think it's directly inspired by any real life figure (although it is based on a real phenomena), and playing games about politics based on fictional evidence is dumb anyway.

But the answer to "which is better - 1. a bunch of bloodsucking parasites who hate us who say that they do it for The Market or 2. a bunch of bloodsucking parasites who hate us who say that they do it for Labor?" is "we should just get rid of all the bloodsucking parasites."

Fine, you are right in that regard. This said, the "protagonist" of that movie reminded me of Hillary. It's probably the dress and how old she looks.

It just reminds me of some bullshit the director of Snowpiercer said about how his movie was essentially about how evil capitalism was, while apparently missing the fact nothing about his little world actually represented capitalism in any way. Nothing about the movie made any sense, really - it was just the usual class warfare bullshit. And I see that more recently they've made it into a TV series, too.

The Minnesota Twins Major League Baseball team can't even fill the mandated 25% of seating, having only 8500 fans attend games out of 10,000 seats available. Chances are it's because they're a crap team, but hopefully their embrace of mindless social justice statements and woke advertising is helping accelerate this.

Well, and the fact that Baseball is dying in general.

I’ve been wondering about that...
Anecdotally, people I know who used to love Baseball hate the fact that it's become essentially pay-to-win. It's a truism that a small town team can win, once, and then the next season will lose all their players to a bigger, wealthier city because it can't afford them anymore. Baseball's wage scale is ridiculously imbalanced even by the standards of professional sports and teams with smaller amounts of capital really can't compete with teams that are rich.
