Okay, they do know that Tolkien was Catholic, and I mean really Catholic, his personal correspondence is full of references.
The LoTR is all about faith and spirituality, even if there is no direct organised religion.

Why can't they concentrate on the problems that Tolkien had with his own work?
In that making the Orcs he had created an entire race that was irredeemingly evil, even he had issue with that.

To quote someone who watched it from another site:

It basically tells stories of racism against black people without even giving any context for it except that white people are just bad. There is no side of humanity to any of the white characters it's just disgusting racist vitriol from episode 1 to the final.

The point of telling a racist story would be to have a redemptive arc in response to the racism. I guess when you believe that all white people are inherently racist you feel no responsibility to explain why, or if they could ever change. I think its highly irresponsible to subconsciously send that message to millions of viewers.

However, these white people may not even be considered racist, due to the entire lack of context besides their skin color. One could almost call this generalizing an entire people based on their skin color. What is the term for that again? No explanation is given for the white antagonists. They are just outright hateful and disgusting. They merely exist for the point of reaffirming the misguided notion that there is no redemption for racists (white people) I guess white people must accept that simply being white is a condemnation.

Now I read this article I linked that mentions colorism and found a new reason to dislike this show even more. They do not even provide a single redeeming character with pale skin except Leti who is only half black. WHY they would choose someone of mixed race to lead the show is beyond me--- is that supposed to be the redeeming arc of the shows sickeningly overt racist tone?
Also this actress being the sister of a man (Jussie Smollet) who falsely accused people of trying to assault him and mentioned that they were white as a way to garner some kind of racist sympathy. It was later revealed that he entirely fabricated the story of being assaulted.

This show along with many other movies and shows that have similar aspects are part of a new sub-genre people are calling ‘racism-horror’.

Which as you might have guessed, is more so a poorly veiled political message where the ‘horror’ is that racism exists and nothing more. The writers apparently don’t need character development in this new genre because their characters are black and that is enough to keep the politics- pretending-to-be-a-plot going.

Honestly I’m not all all shocked about this, given the culture of wokism.
