.

Your hostility to the mods and issues with them are your problem, not mine.

This has nothing to do with anything in my post. So why bring it up outside of a pathetic cheap shot?

.
Your citation is one article, that says it's being 'weighed', not implemented, and even CNN is saying the White House is pushing back against this.

Naw that's just the only thing I felt like giving you.

I told you, I didn't trust your tone. I rarely oblige people I think are making a dishonest debate tactic behind supposed skepticism.

.
So I was right to be skeptical of your claims.

No

Harlock

I should have expected that really
To be fair you did say

"Hospital's have just instituted DNR's to people suffering from Coronavirus "

which was wrong, a few were talking about the idea of it. If people took your post as written it would present that it was fact that all hospitals were going to just let you die. That is the opposite of what happened and creates fear and panic out of nothing.

So here's a mod post.

Get your facts right before posting. If you read something in an article, link the article for others to read and assess.

Yawn.

You'll all owe me an apology this fall when we're two months into a universal DNR. Assuming I'm not dead before then anyway. I fit the demographic for this kind of triage due to having pediatric asthma bad enough to leave some scarring in my lungs and surviving a brush with HF that took my liver about three years to repair itself from.

To be clear, if this had a kill rate like Ebola, not only would I be on board with this, but I'd be advocating for them napalming neighborhoods to slow the spread. Because that's where, it's not just a few people on the line and saving them might get one or two doctors sick. It would be "taking this risk could potentially put tens of millions in the ground" and there's absolutely no question..I'd gladly lay down my life to protect the US from something with a 90% death rate, I think most here would do the same.

This ain't what we're talking about..this comes off as..grotesquely premature. It strikes me as hysteria from the medical profession..and that in and of itself is something I can empathize with, because all of this must be torture.

But let's not pretend this isn't guided by self interest and not hard assed altruism.

edit- adding this to my post with the warning to take it with a mountain of salt...I have no idea if its true.

But its so bizarre, I figured it should be shared all the same.

If such reports are true...and the virus keeps spreading to the entirety of New Guinea, with it's presumably minimal infrastructure and pastoral communities, well...let's just say Indonesia won't have to concern itself with the West Papuan independence movement as much.

Drawing guidelines and enacting them are completely different, the outbreak has forced groups to come up with plans which admittedly should have been made previously when things were calm, freaking out about the planning is a touch premature.

Watchdog, I'm gonna give you exactly as much politeness as you've given everyone else for a moment. You look like either a fucking idiot or a troll right now. Nobody was saying hospitals weren't considering DNR orders, they were challenging your statement that they have already instituted them. The fact that you tried to prove your own point by linking a bunch of articles that actually agree with what everyone else was trying to correct you with is just pure catharsis.

Posting the screenshot you did afterwords with no apparent attempt to verify the source, despite that it appears to have come from a news website and thus should be relatively easy to find, really gives insight into just how little critical thought you give anything you read; and so perhaps your latching onto incorrect interpretations of articles should be expected.

It's especially funny that while google reverse image search, tineye, and iqdb all found nothing at all, I did find a youtube video talking about it. Uploaded by a channel called Trending yesterday, it has 500 views and conveniently attributes their images. Oddly enough not a single image is actually of what the video claims it was, being a mixture of Tonga, rural Indian tribes, and Haitians. Oh actually, there are some cannibals... In the form of a heavily zoomed in screenshot from The Forest.

The video in question, for those interested

So, you know that Chinese Corona aid? Well about that:

1/ Last week, the Czech Republic made international headlines for stopping a shipment of medical supplies that included boxes labelled as Chinese humanitarian aid to Italy. Together with @Aktualnecz, we have looked into the involved parties.

2/ On Mar 16, Czech police raided a warehouse in the northwestern Czech town of Lovosice. In there, the authorities have found 680 thousand face masks and 28 thousand respirators. Approximately 100 thousand masks were labelled as Chinese Red Cross aid to Italy.

3/ The police confiscated the material since a Czech reseller tried to sell it to the Czech government for an excessive price in the time of crisis using that warehouse. The storage unit belongs to an influential united front figure - Zhou Lingjian.

4/ Zhou Lingjian who co-owns the company CTE CARGO Sped linked to CTE International who sold the 580 thousand masks to the Czech "shell" company, is in charge of the Czech Qingtian Hometown Association and runs the most prominent Chinese diaspora media Prague Chinese Times.

5/ His group has been at the forefront of a collection for Qingtian back in February, in total buying up 780 thousand face masks and 30 thousand respirators from Czech drug stores. This created suspicion that the material is actually from the local Chinese collection.

6/ Zhou claims it was imported from Hong Kong but stopped mid-way in CZ instead of going to Italy. The Italian embassy and Czech police claim the humanitarian aid was stolen by an organized group, leaving even more suspicion about why the boxes ended in Zhou's warehouse.

7/ Qingtian UFWD/OCAO also asked Zhou's group to send 50 tons of rice to Italian Qingtianese making the connection between Zhou and the Party organs clear. Similar to the rice shipment, even the boxes marked as humanitarian aid were actually intended for overseas Chinese in Italy

8/ This preferential treatment is violates the Red Cross principles. The Red Cross Society of China's honorary president Wang Qishan must be extremely unhappy about such an outrageous act.

9/ This incident leaves much doubt about the "aid" that is now coming from China to Europe. Especially since much of what is labelled as "aid" is either sales or directed at the overseas Chinese.
Yeah....

Since this thread keeps generating derails and the consequent threadbans, a clarification is in order.

This thread is for talking about COVID-19 and the direct consequences of/responses to it.

If it has to do with the virus or what is being done (by individuals, corporations, or governments) in direct response to the virus then it is on topic for this thread.

If it has to do with anything else and/or cannot be tied directly to the virus then it will be seen as a derail in this thread and threadbans will follow for everyone involved in the derail (starting at 24 hours and rapidly escalating for individuals who continue to derail).
