Cheers 1982-1983
Frasier 1993-2004
Big Bang Theory 2007-2019
Home Improvement 1991-1999
Last Man Standing 2011-2021

I chose Cheers becasue the romance plots and over character development. Ted Danson is really stand out as the main characters and manages to hold the cast together.

Frasier also contains the same level of complex charaters along with throwing in some twists like having the man be a gold diggers. Also the brothers being highly educated compared to the cop dad made their relationship with their father is one of the best parts of the show.

Home Imporvement is becasue Tool Time bits always where funny and Wilson's advice always added something serious to the show. This is all on top of decent plotlines and good characters especially the different brothers.

Last Man Standing bearly made the list to be honest. Overall the strength of the frist seasons overpower the downward slip of the show after it moved networks. But not only does it charaters and family stand out it is about the only sitcom 9 have seen that does show true conservatives in a good light. A nice change of pace from Hollywood.

The last is a pick that many may not agree with. Overall Big Bang Theory is a great show. It has long running plot lines, decent charater development and makes some funny jokes. It is a modern coming of age story that takes into acount that many grad school and older college students are basically teenagers. At the start of the show the guys are mianly living the geek dream of comic cons and not stop gaming sessions. But as yhe show goes on we see them grow and start to have real romantic relationships and see hl2 that changes your priorities.

I know lots of people say the characters are just dumb stereotypes and they are to a certain extent. But the big thing is they are no worse then anyother show does to a jock, popular girl, punk, ext. Personally I knew people like each lf the main characters in school and even after. The main reason that you see a lot of scorn for the show in geeker places online is that unlike the popular cheerleader this stereotype hit closer to home to a lot of people.

So a good show that ended with a complete story of the core group growing up even if every storyline was not a happy ending.

Last Man Standing never should've gotten canceled by Fox.

1. Seinfeld (1989-1998)
2. Scrubs (2001-2010)
3. Frasier (1993-2004)
4. 30 Rock (2006-2013)
5. Parks & Recreation (2009-2015)

I honestly haven't seen that many sitcoms tbh. I watched Seinfeld a fair bit while it was on reruns and the like and dug the characters and their quirky day to day lives in a show about nothing.

Scrubs was great but I never really saw the last few seasons, though apparently that was a good thing. Loveable characters in a teaching hospital setting, showing lots of different characters and personalities and all of them were at least partially sympathetic and most were complex and had complex relationships.

Frasier was a graet family dynamic and I liked the idea of a psychiatrist going through so many struggles. I liked the class/elitism themes as well.

30 Rock and Parks & Rec beat out Community I guess in my listing of NBC sitcoms that I watched if the time matched up. I saw enough of the former two to bother watching them on streaming platforms and enjoyed them both to the extent I remember a fair bit of both shows. I liked the self deprecation that occurred in both series, one at a television studio and the other in a small government thing. Lots of colorful characters with actual development. 30 Rock beats out Parks & Rec by being a bit less preachy and more self deprecating, with hilarious smash cuts and some genuine moments it de-evolved into absolute ridiculousness which was great.

I didn't add cartoons since while similar, I feel their animated nature should put them in a distinct category. And with that said its annoying because The Simpsons and South Park are still going on and I haven't seen an episode of either in years and in all honesty, especially in Simpsons case, probably should be mercykilled.

I liked the frist couple seasons of Community but the later ones had a large drop in quality. With main characters leaving and having to come up with excuses for them all staying at school led to problems. Not to mention reusing the same jokes from other seasons.

I did like Parks and Recreation even if the last season time skip was a little weird. But it was an interesting way to give an epilog thay generally worked out.

Here is were I may be weird but I never could get into 30 Rock. I have tried when it frist came out and when it hit Prime again. I could never make it past the frist 5 episodes. The jokes felt flat to me and Tracy Morgan's character is one I just find annoying.
