Two Jews three opinions, getting us to agree on anything is like herding cats.
Except that bagels with lox are great lol!

The purpose of matrilineal-only passage of status is that it's inarguable proof of heritage, but with modern genetic testing we've become able to verify paternity to the same degree, as well as the overall ethnic composition. It's an extremely whack insistence on tradition-for-its-own-sake to reject the notion of permitting patrilineal Jewish status provided an actual paternity test out of hand.
At the very least let up on the conversion strictness for this!

100% strongly agree!I'm just waiting for Israel to hit its fuck it moment where they just kick the Palastinians out of the country in mass.
Any other country would have already done so by now.
That does remind me of something,

Though, I guess, my comparison implies it will peter out.
I've heard that Medvedev threatened Israel from sending weapons, etc., to the Ukrainians. The purpose of matrilineal-only passage of status is that it's inarguable proof of heritage, but with modern genetic testing we've become able to verify paternity to the same degree, as well as the overall ethnic composition. Reform Judaism is mainstream in the US, definitely not in Israel.US Reform Judaism is pretty mainstream, no? Over a million members, IIRC.

I'm not circumcised, I'm not Jewish by the Halakha (although I'm something like 64% Ashkenazi Jew according to DNA tests) and I live in Israel just fine, voting in free elections, eating bacon and cheezburgers, using electricity and driving on the Shabbat etc.Well, Yeah, Israeli Jews are more traditional than their US counterparts. I guess that this makes me happy that I live in the US, albeit with me also having Israeli citizenship. I'd probably get accepted by the Reform movement without a conversion, though it helps that I had a brit milah as an infant, I think.

Israel is by and large not very different from most Mediterranean European countries except in a few select instances that can be considered either minor or major, depending on your lifestyle (such as that it's impossible to marry a Jew in Israel if you're not Jewish, I had to fly to Cyprus for my marriage, but it's recognized in Israel even if not performed in Israel. Also no public transportation on Shabbat).
Why Izrael supported Moscov so much?
Dauble Genocide Theory" - everybody who claim, that somebody else then jews were genocided,is liar and enemy.
So,they support commies who claim that there were no commie genocides.
For that reason, they supported Moscov against Georgia in 2008/they gave kgb codes to georgian drones/
Yes to both.Is your wife Jewish? Also, apologies for asking, but what is your birthplace (as in, what city)? I would presume somewhere in the ex-USSR, right? And is your remaining 36% of your ancestry Russian, Belarusian, Ukrainian, or other?
Yes to both.
Transnistria. Is asking for your exact birthplace too personal? If so, then forget that I asked about it.
Transnistria.
