Duke Nukem
Hail to the king baby
I don't know why the eGOP is acting surprised about what happened. they had two years to do something about the fraud that took place , and they did absolutely nothing.
Civilizations function in cycles, right now you are at the down part of the cycle, actually all of the western civilization is, the forces of creative destruction must be unleashed to cleanse bloat and bad ideas and reinvigorate everything. The sooner the republic collapses, the sooner the winner can go full despot. This delusion that somehow we'll do better if we restart discounts how goddamn lucky we are that the American revolution didn't result in something awful, and that any new revolution will likely be by a person who hates the constitution.

Ron Desantis has every tell-tale sign of a man who is seriously considering a run for the presidency and has for the last four years that's what! In what future where it seems like Desantis is getting more and more popular do you not see Trump being anyone but himself and attacking whom he sees as a threat?Oh by all means, do explain how it was inevitable. I wanna hear this one.
The idea that one knows where in the cycle one is, is absurd. We've been in shitty situations before as well.Civilizations function in cycles, right now you are at the down part of the cycle, actually all of the western civilization is, the forces of creative destruction must be unleashed to cleanse bloat and bad ideas and reinvigorate everything.
... Literally this year, with the Dobbs and Bruen decisions. Seriously, stop blackpilling, it's dumb and defeatist. Oh, no, the Republicans lost on a platform of "it sucks" and nearly no real candidates. Learn, and do better. We are already at that point though dude. When was the last time anyone has given the constitution any real reverence besides some superficial victories that aren't likely to be reversed at some point. We aren't going to be able to vote our way out of this.
Tell that to Dalio and Strauss. The idea that one knows where in the cycle one is, is absurd. We've been in shitty situations before as well.
We managed to survive a time when we had massive droughts in the Midwest and the economy was so bad ot still looks tame.
Shit can and has been worse. We won Dobbs.
We just have to keep fightinf
How?Back then was a very different time to now.
How?
I hadn't heard that before!
I poked around a little bit and I found something that could possibly be what Airedale is referring to. Apparently, when Trump was doing one of his off-the-cuff rants, in particular one going after Kemp, he said, "And Stacey Abrams, who still has not conceded, and that's OK [...] Stacey, would you like to take his place? It's OK with me. [...] Of course having her, I think, might be better than having your existing governor, if you want to know what I think. Might very well be better."
Not an official endorsement, but fair enough on a "Trump would rather have had Abrams win than Kemp out of spite" level. Unless he later backtracked, which is completely possible.
How?
What has me nervous was how things have just straight up balkanized. Every election we have had swing states. Not this time though. This time everything just sort of got hollowed out red areas got redder and blue areas got bluerer.
Something like that is generally the lightning flash before the very loud thunderclap.
That assumes the results are 100% fair and real, and no "fortification" took place. However even if we try and account for the possibile fortification it does look like way too many people have decided to simply stick with Blue No Matter Who. They have really decided that hormones for kids and racial equity are the future and fuck actually being free. That is scary indeed, and why I say a civil war is getting close to unavoidable.
Since these e-mails are going out to *Trump's* mailing lists, is he not rightfully entitled to take the lion's share of the donations? As little as I like him, this seems entirely reasonable to me.
Exactly right
DeSantis likely running in 2028Ron Desantis has every tell-tale sign of a man who is seriously considering a run for the presidency and has for the last four years that's what! I could have told you before DeSantis even became big that if anyone ever rose with the potential to dethrone Trump the first thing Trump would attempt to do is preemptively beat him down and that is exactly what he has done on numerous occasions.
You or others may be quick to say. "But 'muh' best candidate voted for DeSantis to be gov" but the fact is he did vote for govenor and then proceeded to undermine him when he won 'bigley' Why is that? It's because he want's DeSantis to stay out of his way as the Govenor of Florida come hell or highwater.
@DarthOne their is no way you are convincing me otherwise on this. Are the media fanning the flames. Yes. In any TL where DeSantis was perceived as a challenger to him was Trump going to let it go? No.
The only way you would have gotten any sort of non-fight between DeSantis and Trump is if either died or DeSantis gave a concrete contract which stated he wasn't going to run in 2024.
The change in the district with the census probably had an impact too.Democrat Marie Gluesenkamp Perez defeats Republican Joe Kent in WA House race
Democrat Perez defeats GOP Kent for House Rep. for Washington's 3rd Congressional district. This is a massive upset. 538 gave the Democrats a 2% chance in the seat, for example. The GOP has held the seat since 2010. The previous GOP rep. in the seat was highly conservative--being very vocal about overturning Roe v Wade, for example--and won the seat in 2020 by 13 points, 5 points in 2018, 23 points in 2016, etc. However, she voted to impeach Trump after Jan. 6 and so lost the primary to a 2020 election denier. Then the guy who replaced her preceded to narrowly lose.
