Aliens and Predators Franchise Megathread

Weyland-Yutani fucks things up because of greed.

Yajuta Hunters fuck things up for honor.
Well, an entire human civilization was overrun by xenomorphs and then blown up, according to AvP's prologue.

So, if you weren't stuck to a wall somewhere with an alien horror moving around in your chest (which'll soon be outside your chest), you were vapourized by an alien nuke because the aliens were too fucking incompetent to kill the other aliens they were hunting for sport/rites of passage. :ROFLMAO:

Yup, nuking the pre-industrial civilization was the honorable thing for the Yajuta to do... according to them.

despite the first AVP being okay, I still don't like it in my headcanon timeline. Don't see why the Yujuta would take xenomorphs to Earth instead of some private hunting preservation world. It would make more sense for them to take humans offworld than bringing xenomorphs on world. Especially as the xenomorphs could endanger one of their favorite prey species, humans.

Hell, leave hints, false trails, and other things. Make it to where we have no clue how the morphs operate other than egg>facehugger>chest burster>xenomorph.

I am annoyed this thing still hasn't had a faithful official model created, the damned thing has been described and Aliens Dark Descent still couldn't add it!

I'm starting to think this new Alien film will be more of a sci-fi thriller than a straight horror like the original. I really think they should've redesigned the xenomorph a bit and kept him in the shadows, only revealing contours of the monster design, like so:

Or,even not kept him at all, only use shadows.I read, that in some old horror about cat-woman in scene where she is trying to attack her rival they do not even used panther, only shadows and panther voice.

Trying to recapture the original feel of Alien when it was first released is nearly impossible now because people know/expect the horror. The Xenomorph is too well known because of media exposure over the years in other films, games, and movies.

The closest we came to recapturing the original Alien feel was Isolation, and even then that was more survival horror.

so instead lets make it a gore fest

Gore in media is like the filling in a sandwich or the icing on a cake; they're tasty, wonderful things when used in good proportions, but if the entire sandwich or cake is nothing but filling or icing? It's gonna be a bad sandwich or cake.

Like the original chestburster scene, gore is a scalpel to be used; otherwise, you get, well, Alien: Covenant. :ROFLMAO:

I liked Alien: Covenant, but again, more sci-fi horror than straight horror. Alien was literally a boogeyman monster in a haunted house, except the haunted house was in space. Alien was literally described by its creators as "A Texas Chainsaw Massacre in Space"
TCW had gore but it's always been a horror series, not jumping between genres like the Alien films.
