Speculation: Will President Biden run for full 4-year term in 2016?
*November 28th, 2014: President Biden hasn't addressed on whether he'll be seeking a full 4-year term in 2016. The White House has declined to answer questions about the President's political future or campaign plans, saying "The President is focused on leading the country and working hard 24/7."
Sources suggest Biden hasn't filed for any political action committee as of yet. However, political analysts said that some Democrats aren't sitting around waiting their turn as former US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton's campaign network is gaining momentum across the country; Clinton held a private fundraiser in Buffalo before the Thanksgiving holiday break with NY St Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) & Democratic members of the NY St congressional delegation. Clinton will be holding another pair of campaign fundraisers in IL, NC, VA, IA, etc.,
Outgoing MD Governor Martin O'Malley (D), whose term ends on January 21st, 2015, has been rumored to running for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2016 along with United States Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT), whom some unnamed Democrats strongly blasted as "Crazy nutjob, who'll set the Democratic Party back decades and generations."
REPUBLICANS STRATEGY: OBSTRUCT, BLOCK BIDEN AGENDA
*November 30th, 2014: Incoming US Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) addressing the Heritage Foundation in Washington, DC., declared his focus will be blocking the Biden administration's agenda non-stop, block executive & judicial nominees including obstructing everything that the Biden White House proposes.
This foreshadows what ugly partisanship will be awaiting the Biden administration going forward.
During a statewide tour across the Lone Star State, incoming TX Governor Greg Abbott (R) openly declared he'll be filing lawsuits against the Biden administration aggressively & also announced the State of Texas will not be subject to intimidation or political blackmail from the Federal government. Abbott also blasted the Biden administration's calls of police reform calling it "a blatant attack on law enforcement. Texans will always staunchly back our law enforcement all the way!"
Some have viewed Abbott as a potential 2020 contender for the White House on the assumption that President Biden seeks & wins a full 4-year term in 2016.
LA Governor Bobby Jindal (R), MS Governor Phil Bryant (R), AL Governor Bob Bentley (R), GA Governor Nathan Deal (R), FL Governor Richard Scott (R), SC Governor Nikki Haley (R), TN Governor Bill Haslam (R), NM Governor Susana Martinez (R), ME Governor Paul LePage (R), IN Governor Mike Pence (R), MI Governor Rick Snyder (R), WI Governor Scott Walker (R) have launched similar lawsuits against the Biden administration.
