This is the strangest thing that I've ever seen: Japan trying to make a historical account of the American Revolution from their cultural perspective (or, at least, during Meji Japan). Although, please note at the 15-minute mark that there is something quite unusual in terms of historical significance. If you know your Japanese Mon, then you'll know why I'm pointing this out. If you don't know the significance, then the basic outline is that George Washington was shown to have the Tokugawa Mon... a significant honor and basically says 'this person is adopted/a great friend to the clan'.
