A few months ago, I built a rig with the following specs:
- Ryzen 9 5900X
- GeForce RTX 3090 FE
- 128 GB Corsair Dominator DDR4-3200 RAM
- Asus ROG Strix X570E
- All SSD storage
It's all housed in a Fractal Design Define 7 Compact. It replaces my huge water-cooled uber-tower from 2017 and basically stomps its ass, performance-wise. I had a huge Kerbal Space Program obsession recently, and that game's physics only allow one CPU thread per object, so single-threaded performance is a big deal if you wanna keep the game from lagging. The Ryzen 9 5900X stomps the SHIT out of the i7-6950X I was using before. Intel had better watch out, because AMD is back in fucking town.
