Dune part 2

The trailer for Dune part 2 dropped. Everyone on the hype train. Wooo wooo.

Seems as good as part 1,but we will see.
They could made all fremen black lgbt jewish muslim dwarf-elved hybrids, after all !

Jokes aside - i missed Saudarkar singing here.

One of the few movies I am looking forward too. Many of the new movies are just meh.

But the frist movie was better then the other live action ones so I am hopeful for this one too.

The same.I watched 1984 version and later series, both were inferior.
Pity, that Jodorowski do not gather enough money for his movie. It would be probably disaster, but glorious one !

I finally watched Dune part two.Good, solid movie, better then 1984 version or serial.

But,still made small mistakes, like turning Feud from backstabing psycho into kinda honorable psycho, made chani leave Paul, and start jihad becouse great Houses do not bow to Paul here.
And why leave one Fremen woman to get burned by Feud.

But,most important - WHY THEY INVENTED SOME FUNDAMENTALIST THERE? All Fremens in book was beliver, they only doubt if Paul is right Mahdi,or should they still wait.
When in movie they created some secular Fremen, which in book never existed.Modern world,i think.

Another small thing about Dune - Book Stilgar was smart dude who become beliver in end of story. Here,he was turned into clown who behave like....dunno,maybe archetype of stupid muslim?

Forget something else - flamethrowers. If they have them to burn dead bodies, they could use them on battlefield.Schields would help for few seconds, but no longer.

They were seeking to appeal to modern audiences. Don't think it was the worst thing, and I wouldn't consider them secular just not orthodox (like your typical christian today who believes in God but doesn't take Revelations seriously.)

True, but in book people like those still do not existed. They all take their prophecy seriously, only doubted if Paul is right one or not.
Another problem - why they let Hatkonnen defeat them and chase out of their sietch? in book it never happened.
There was no reason for making Harkonnen competent there.

And other High Lords wanting to fight Paul after he wiped out Saudarkars in one day - that do not have sense, too.

Does it have the bit where Paul reveals he can destroy all spice production, forever?
Indeed, but here with atomic arsenal of House Atredis, not using dead water from killed worms.
Dunno why, introducing Navigators would have more sense.
Another movie mistake - they do not even mentioned Navigators.

1 st movie had three Navigators, possibly 5 if they were wearing the same style of spacesuit.

True, but their power was never mentioned. In book Paul threthened them after destroing Saudarkars, and Guild made other Noble Houses retreat. Here, they do not existed as political player.

Of course compared to Navigators from miniseries, maybe it is better then they were not present...

Make Space Prussia great again.

Those weren't the Navigators, those were just Spacing Guild people. The Navigators looked suitably alien and whatnot in the brief display of them.

I really loved that SciFi Channel Dune Miniseries. It's aged terribly since but I actually loved how they went overboard with the costumes, including the Spacing Guild and Sardaukar. As adaptions go and considering the low budget, it was actually pretty good adaption despite being so dated now.
