Basically as it says on the tin, is Le Pen the best option France has? As far as I can tell, she's the closest thing you have to a nationalist right winger in France who might not be a horrible internationalist socialist. However, she herself does not seem to be particularly anti socialist, and I've seen more credible claims of Nazi/fascism of her party than I've seen of other right wing parties.
So, while another right wing government would be good, Le Pen seems like she might legitimately be a terrible right winger. However, despite many of her terrible seeming policies and history, she also seems to be the closest thing France can currently produce to a good candidate.
So, is Le Pen as bad as she seems? Are there other good options? Or is France really just so screwed up that the best candidate they can get for themselves is a potential fascist?
