The Pentagon is weighing a dramatically different fleet that relies heavily on unmanned ships and submarines.

Officials are in fact discussing a fleet of anywhere between 480 to 530 hulls, a 35% increase from the current 355 vessels. This hypothetical expansion will focus less on major surface combatants and aircraft carriers and more on smaller surface vessels, unmanned ships, submarines and an expanded logistical fleet by 2030, which is nice considering the US Navy is already lacking in actual sailors AFAIK.
