Got together with friends to do grilling-foods, Cards against Humanity, and a Mel Brooks movie marathon for gits and shiggles. Man was a fantastic director/writer, and Blazing Saddles is still a masterpiece of a satire that really hits both the western genre and racism. I adore that movie and just about everything about it--and introducing a few new folks who'd never seen it before was all kinds of fun--and the same story goes for History of the World, Pt. 1.
One of his I'd never seen before (or even HEARD of, honestly) was High Anxiety, which in a slightly more understated way does the same thing Blazing Saddles did for westerns to thriller films in general and particularly Hitchcock films--there's probably a half-dozen gags in the movie based around dramatic and oddball camera-angles and camera-progressions through a scene and it's a lot of very campy, amusing dumbness (that has Brooks in a lead role as well--which is also fun) and even more tongue-in-cheek 'as you know' explanations and plot-hook setups that are so prominent in Hitchcock movies (it might've suffered a bit in the modern day because the particular style it's parodying has become a bit less common since...well, Hitchcock's death...But still a lot of fun).
