United States Texas shooting: Fifteen killed in attack on US Elementary School

Uvalde police are sending out requests to multiple other law enforcement departments across the state for backup. No, not for shooters, they want other police to protect them from the angry townsfolk who had their children murdered. I guess we can't be surprised, they were afraid to confront a kid at 19 to 1 odds so they must be absolutely petrified of a town that outnumbers them and is posting mean tweets. We can only hope they get the same quality protection they've provided to the children of their city.

I'll be surprised if they did do that.

The city police forces need to go away again, and then make the County Sheriff's offices empowered to do the work. Money from the cities will go to the Sheriff's Depts for recruitment and training.

Here in Texas, the Sheriffs are elected; not all Police Chiefs are.

Add'ly, there MUST be a change in philosophy for the police departments in general. Protection and sacrifice have to be emphasized, not just enforcement and punishment.

Meh. Call me jaded, but given their proclivities and the things we've seen come out of Trans circles, it’s probably only a matter of time until they’re guilty of something.

Well, this time I got the info wrong. Until we get like the two women pregnant by a trans idiot (or rapist?) in prison, If I am objectively wrong, like I was, I will retract it what I said.

By "they", it implies possibly, and I stress possibly, that someone other than Ramos shot a kid. Everyone will draw their own conclusions, but the only way this mess will get sorted is when the Texas Rangers start hitting every damn member of the police department along with the city council in Uvalde with subpoenas.

I am really hoping this tweet is little more than a baseless rumor...God, I am hoping so.

Sounds like a stretch to me.

Sounds like someone just looking for internet points.

I'm going to need a lot more than someone saying "they shot a kid" during a shooting, to think there's anything to this...and I say this as someone who is kind of biased against the police.

Sounds like a stretch to me.

If it was police fire that hit a kid, it obviously wasn't intentional. The problem in a close-quarters situation like that where you have a gunman with intent to kill and IS killing kids, and a number of policemen who are also armed and quite possibly shooting back, is that once a bullet is fired regardless of who the shooter is, whoever gets hit by said bullet is a matter of "to whom it may concern".

But again, we won't know the full details of this mess for a while, which is part of the problem.

Cross-fire is possible. I think the "evidence" presented thus far is a stretch. I'll go so far as to say the tweet is utter bullshit.

I say that as someone who dislikes the police and thinks the chance of crossfire is quite high. It's just that what we have isn't evidence of shit.
