It's the same thing that screwed over the Asgard versus the replicators, not realizing that the replicators couldn't adapt to kinetic weapons as well as to more pure energy weapons. One of the things I love about this story is that you are really good at writing from the perspective of the viewpoint character and so who ever is the current one we see things through all their biases and knowledge.
Thank you! That can sometimes slow my updates down, but I hope it's worth it.
As to the Asgard issue, yeah and you knew it had to gal Thor to admit that because he was definitely one of the foremost experts on warfare in the whole damn universe and even he couldn't conceive of "throw hard shit at the enemy very, very fast".
To paraphrase a certain shitposter on another site "the SGCs military doctrine can be summed up as "hit a big brain with a rock" and it's clearly the most effective military strategy out there."
I personally can't wait to see what happens when Jack stumbles on the Ancient repository that is definitely going to have a lot more consequences in this universe when a lot of people are going to realize that probably shouldn't have happened.
That will be hilarious, though I may have his wormhole go somewhere unexpected.
Only Hathor and Ra really believed humans had the potential to be a great race. Egeria and Promtheus too but they are dead and Ra feared that potential instead of trying to make friends with it like Hathor wants to.
It's gonna be a wake up call to the cosmos that the new kids on the block may end up major players soon.
By the way do the Goa'uld have anything like the Ori Supergate from the canon timeline?
They do, hyperspace relay gates that bypass all the subspace damage the Furling expy of this setting created fighting the Ancients.
The Houses of the System Lord collect nice residual checks from the toll fees on that of course.
And they also have Galaxy gates that industrial sized stargates for commercial purposes.
Remember the Imperium covers a good chunk of 3 Galaxies and the Jaffa priests evangelize all over the dann universe. Spreading the Imperial cult and culture and eventually commerce follows after.
Which is why Omoc insults the Abydonians for engaging in "Lotarism"
The Goa'uld were a bit smarter here in how they did things.
