White guilt is a hell of a drug I guess? It explains why some many SJW/woke types are white. Well, that and the law of averages given that they seem to crop up in the USA/Canada/Europe.

Turns out a lot of the lost revenue was due to losing the right to air cricket games, which seemed to have caused a massive subscription loss in Asia.

So Disney might not be going broke because they went woke, but because they tried to get into the sports streaming game and failed at it.

Yeah, but were the Indians paying the same rate for the service? Plus, even if they were paying $10 a month, that's only $72million lost. That's not much for Disney.

I think it's more the subscription loss is a long term income hit, and the parks are not doing the business they used to, while the 'Don't Say Gay' thing turned the gov of Florida into a hostile entity to Disney, instead of a lapdog, and that hurt in ways the company had not anticipated.

Right now, Disney is ripe for the 'unwokening'.

From what I understand, the new Proud Family reboot is loaded with wokeness.

Me, a smart-ass shitposter:

Couldn't quite fit Muscle Man rejoicing over how "Worth it!" getting fired was, but whatever. :p

It's death by a thousand cuts, and Disney is slowly bleeding itself dry.

If you read further in the thread as he answers questions, he lets slip that his information is actually just the excuses on a form letter Disney sent him as a stockholder to explain the loss. That makes their conclusion a touch... suspect. Disney's not going to publish a letter saying "Because of our meddling in politics we're taking huge losses..."

It's probably still a factor, but the one that hurts their egos the least to admit to.
