"Cowboy up"
"Soldier on"
"Tighten it up"
-all of 'em are used throughout the military and emphasize getting on with the mission despite the hardships, and it's often implied that you need to leave all your personal shit behind or shut up in a box to do that. So many times mission piles on top of mission and leaders often don't force the time to help their soldiers deal with the shit they're carrying around. Then they redeploy stateside and it all hits at once. Then there's the stigma about asking for help with your personal shit, and soldiers (et al) try and go without help on purpose.
