Mirelurk are a specific East Coast mutation AFAIK. Originally they were Chesapeake Blue Crabs mutated by FEV and Rads (which is also why they were edible... it was a bit of a salute to a greater DC regional favorite food), and in FO4 became generically just crabs mutated by FEV and Rads.

I recall but sadly Lirelurks did show up in Lake Mead.

So Arch and his pet Coanadian pigmonkey lardgolem token libtard were not very happy about this show.

But on the other hand Critical Drinker seems to have enjoyed it.
Kinda feeling both sides. The show has great characters portrayed by really good actors, and it gets the Fallout atmosphere down to a T. But at the same time, I also feel it's a vindictive vehicle by Bethesda used to retcon all the stuff established by the non-Bethesda games that Todd Howard doesn't like.

I can see that but is it really vindictive as just boosting their vision of Fallout and not that of someone no longer part of the franchise?

It can still suck obviously, but it doesn't necessitate intentional iconoclasm like we see with Games Workshop and the Sequel Trilogy.

Well up his, NV is canon, this shit is just more Bezos fanfiction propped up by power-hungry sycophants.
What an absolutely pathetic creature.

You know the funny thing is almost every major faction in Fallout can or has been destroyed BECAUSE of a big boom.

Fallout 2 Oil Rig explodes
Fallout 3 Enclave Crawler explodes
Fallout 3 Zetan spaceships go BOOM!
Fallout New Vegas destroy the NCR or Caesar's Legion by letting the nukes launch
Fallout 4 Institute base goes boom or Brotherhood Prwyden goes boom

I think the the first faction that creates a settlement that's boom proof is gonna be the true rulers of the wasteland

By the way Todd himself said the nukes were after the fall of Shady Sands timeline not during
Todd Howard confirms the Fallout show didn't retcon non-Bethesda Fallout games: 'Everything that happened in the previous games, including New Vegas, happened'

lol Todd Howard be literally what I was saying this entire time almost word for word
Howard: One of the takes that we always have is to approach things very locally when we're doing Fallout. We're careful about saying what's going on in other parts of the world. And we always take this view of, communication is difficult. And look, if you look at the background, the NCR is a wide-ranging sort of organization and group across not just California, but other places. So the show focuses on this period of time and this group here, and that's what we can say right now. But I don't think you've heard the last of the NCR.
It was never a show about the NCR hence the lack of focus on it

:v

Geez why was that so hard for people to comprehend.

"Okay okay you caught our retcon which was specifically designed to be semi-easy to retcon, so we're going to retcon our retcon so you're happy, there, better?"

Films/series do this all the time, they keep everything as vague as possible so that they can lean one way or another depending on public outcry. There's no more spine left in media-creators.

I really hope this is the last time a pre war faction is the big bad or even relevant. Give me some lunatics who worship the founding fathers as gods and burn people at the stake for communism.
How many other pre-war factions have been the villain? Enclave, Institute...And I think that's it?

Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! FO1 protagonist was shockingly competent, and even the retarded Vault 101 people changed the door codes.

I blame inbreeding (despite whatever rules they may have had, horny teenagers in tight quarters don't have a lot of common sense), and being given "educational" materials that were likely mostly Vault Tech and Pre-War Federal propaganda.

This is three times too many IMO, It's been 200+ fckin years there are to be something other than pre war factions and generic raiders to cause a ruckus

In fairness, in FO1 and FO2 the raiders had a little more individuality.

Even in FO4 the devs had planned for there to be an intricate mini-faction system between the various raider gangs... they just never finished it.

FO1 and 2 raiders were also a lot less numerous and didn't infest 3/4's of the map.
