Amazon Prime Amazon Fallout series.

I’m going to be honest, if they really wanted to go through with Shady Sands being destroyed and the NCR fracturing, then Caesar’s Legion should have been the main villainous faction of the TV Show. Despite the setback of Hoover Dam, with the NCR imploding the Legion should have been able to carry all before it.

Vault 33 being butchered as part of a standard Legion resource/slave gathering operation makes a tad more sense than…whatever the fuck that Moldaver woman was trying to do.
The show isn't about the NCR or the Legion or the Brotherhood, they're background characters.

The plot is a triple story that mainly revolves around Lucy and Howard and Norm

Lucy looked for her Dad then wants to find out more of the secrets of Vault Tec
Cooper is looking for his family and his best lead is Lucy's dad
Norm is figuring out how to resolve Vault 31 Vault Tec infiltrators messing with his vault

Everything else is just background shit, people need to remember the NCR is not the focal point of the story, Lucy and Howard is so story elements are going to be focused on revolving around Vault Tec and Pre-War people.

That’s lovely Scoob, but the world doesn’t stop rotating no matter how much you focus on characters. And that is especially the case in a long standing series like Fallout with a lot of lore behind it. This is a fictional world with different morals, norms and history to our own. As the characters are people who live in that world, their culture and their worldview are heavily influenced by that history.

World building is the skeleton of the world on which your characters live. Without that skeleton, things become a bit mushy, messy and floppy. And in Fallout, where the world is as much of a character as the characters themselves, shoddy world building does it no favours.

It'll be interesting to see Maximus' character development as well. At the beginning of the series he kinda seemed like a bore but gradually grew on me pretty good. Initially I was like Dane the Twink Aspirant seemed more interesting. But seeing Maximus' growth into being more interesting, it was nice to see. The other main characters were rather interesting from the onset. Norm was kinda surprising.

It was a nice supporting cast as well. With Thaddeus and the Vault people and their idiosyncrasies as well.

So my wife and I watched the 1st 3 episodes, and we're just not invested. Our hero feels less like a character and more like a caricature. Same with the Knight of Stolen Valor. For some reason we're supposed to think he's a good guy? The only character we were interested in was the Ghoul, but not enough to wade through the rest of the nonsense.

So...we're done watching.

Is it just me or did it look like Vault 32 had been 'dead' for a while and the raiders only just showed up?
Vault 32 was dead for like...At least several months, yeah.

Maximus is kinda an immoral dick, the ghoul has more consistent morals of all people.

Also, why exactly are they back to using fucking bottle caps in LA?...If they were further from NCR territory, sure, but all those gold coins wouldn't just vaporize from existence ya know!

I bet 90% of people watching the show wouldn't even know WHY they used bottlecaps. (Psst, here's a hint, what would be useful for survival when bottled with a cap?)

I personally say just watch the entire series, as it definitely picks up after the first couple episodes.

It's a TV show bruh not a video game 💀 it's like saying Cyberpunk Edge runners is a bad show because the story wasn't about V or 8 hours of Militech world building.

Neither is there any shoddy world building in the show, it's just relatively short, only 8 episodes to cover so much.

People started using Caps because NCR money was inflated from the Brotherhood pillaging their gold reserves. This has been a thing since Obsidian dude.

I appreciate that, but we have limited free time to give to entertainment. If it doesn't work for us now, we're not investing the rest of the time required.
Understandable.
Based TV show dropper. *Thumbs up*
Eh, his reason is understandable and time constraints on top of not finding the first three episodes makes sense.

For instance, my wife has never played the FO games except a few minutes if 4.
Has no knowledge if the lore and enjoys the show.
Not love it but enjoys it because it's fun

Seriously complaining about caps being used is stupid 😂 especially after getting nuked would have demolished the already inflated NCR money which in New Vegas was $5 per 2 caps

The show doesn't need to explain the entire economy of the setting, y'all just being petty. If they explained every detail y'all would complain it's too much exposition 😕

A good example of why media and series needs gatekeeping. The idea that a random woman who has no clue what is going on, has an equal share of the fandom as somebody who has interacted with much of the media and knows a lot about it, is insane.

Shame. Shame!

....then you never get anything from your series except maybe the Van Bueren game that would have retconned tons of FO2 stuff and then of that didn't happen.
A completely dead series.

Dead then most even.

Never watched Pet Sematary eh? Sometimes...Dead is better...

I wouldn't say that at all.
Allowing new people in is good, but making sure they dint change it drastically os the goal.
The thing is, had FO never been bought by Bethesda? The series would have never had a resurgence.

Honest question, when did you play FO2 for the first time?

Idk why people fail to understand the Maximus character.

He is NOT supposed to be a good character this was established before he let Titus die. Titus starts off envious of the power of others because he's been screwed over in life, he's also been indoctrinated since he was a kid by a corrupt chapter of the Brotherhood who saw Aspirants as fodder fanatics.

Maximus breaks his brainwashing when he notices that the Knights didn't adhere to the principles he was raised with his entire life, why would he then allow himself to get killed by a coward he just saved from the bear?

Episode 1. Maximus
  • Indoctrinated since a kid by a corrupt organization
  • Everyone has fucked him over, the other recruits are in a abusive oppressive cycle of beating the shit out of the younger recruits because it was done to them.
  • His Knight used him as a peasant to wipe his cock armor treating him with disdain, his Knight uses him as bait with the clear intent to get him killed while expressing extreme egotism by going off mission when they jumped down the Verti-Bird
  • Titus flees and Maximus saves Titus
  • Titus LITERALLY BLAMES AND THREATENS TO GET MAXIMUS EXECUTED AFTER HE SAVED HIM WHILE RANTING ABOUT THEIR GOAL OF FINDING AND HOARDING TECHNOLOGY
  • Maximus realizes that his Knight didn't adhere to the goals of the Brotherhood and let's him die.
  • Realizing his Knight is dead and literally on Episode 2. He's told by BOS command that Aspirants were expendable he pretends to be a Knight the only way he knows how. By being a jack ass
He later grows character by meeting a decent person like Lucy.

😕 It's like it's too hard for people to critically analyze characters anymore. Maximus was never a good guy, he was just trying to be what he thought was a good guy that also adhered to the Brotherhood's objectives.

The only person clearly meant to be a good person is Lucy and this is literally said to the audience several times to your face. LUCY is the good guy not Maximus, where the hell did or get Maximus was the good guy at the start from?

I'm not super old, so obviously I played it well after it released. But because I actually give a shit about various series, I gave it a shot and admire it for what it is.

The series hasn't 'had' a resurgence, a skinwalker walking around in Fallout's skin has resurged.

But dead is better.

Add in that he eventually gets forgiven by the elder because he realizes how far they have gone from what it meant to be a knight
