Well, the cover's certainly promising. Hercules with a bare head/no cloak instead of properly wearing a lionskin is a pet peeve of mine.

I too feel that one book a month is sufficient, we want to attract more people to the book club over time and a large commitment isn't the way to do that. Somebody can always nominate a short-story collection in order to get those read.

At this point, we only have half a dozen members or so, so a postcount will do. I don't think we need an actual poll for every single thing as each one, as near as I can tell, needs a new thread for each poll. That said I'm not super-sophisticated in the way of forums so I might be wrong.

I didn't have his exact words so it may be that something was lost in the translation instead but it does confirm why the story has such a split personality.

Almost through it now at part 2 Chapter 18. So apparently in an interview the author admitted these were two different stories he crammed together to get his pagecount higher which explains a lot.

It's still better than a lot of stuff I've seen praised online. On a technical level it has decent grammar and descriptions that manage not to be too wordy nor too sparse. The initial concept was interesting and I suspect edgy 12-year-old readers are responsible for the rest. Unfortunately...
