See? That's why its important to beam Frodo with the ring into Mount Doom. That way he bears the brunt of the burden and temptation of the One Ring and, hopefully, the Defiant computer can resist long enough to rematerialize the hobbit into molten lava. xD

I misread that as Sisko beaming Frodo and the One Ring *into* Mount Doom! And was like-well, it's Sisko so I could see him doing it. xD

Out-of universe I always assumed they were deliberately going for a Zorro look to give Wesley that devilish-rogue swashbuckler vibe. I mean I really could see him sailing out across the sea to the new world and having a rousing adventure with Don Diego.

Hmmm, my Avatar's Elric of Melnibone. Number 2 is going to be interesting. Not least that I don't think Stormbringer would allow Elric to become enamored with another mystical artifact and might just destroy the One Ring in a pique. Barring that Elric is an accomplished fighter and skilled...
