    Search radar is going to be heavily degraded if not destroyed by the time Ground Air support is called in. Even with prestine search raydars, flyign nape of the earth is far more effective than any sort of stealth coating.

    You cannot have constant 100% satellite coverage. There will always be gaps as they orbit. A plane can give you coverage of a location exactly when you want it.

    The aluminum will give out eventually. Now BMGs on the otherhand, those will last forever, they are made of steel and are in that sweet spot between and auto-cannon and machinegun where they will always be useful somewhere while being man portable.

    Its the cult of the fighter, they beleive that anything that is not a strike fighter should not be in the air. I swear if they wouldn't get sacked for it they would try to argue cargo missions should be flown by strike fighters.
