I really like that the E-USA is not use to fighting peer powers and it really shows. The NCR got it's kick in the pants by the Legion and E-USA air raids, but lacks the sheer tech and political reach. It adds to the story and keeps it interesting. Also I really felt bad for the Rio soldiers...

Lotta interesting takes on this timeline. I personally took the view that the NCR is SO focused on the threat of the Enclave it has taken the bulk of their focus, which is why the Caravans and Families have so much pull. They have an major threat with a history of genocide and a personal grudge...

I always thought it was possible that Australia, New Zealand, and probably New Caledonia are just fine but likely reduced to Amish levels of tech or just about ww1 tech. I could see the same with South Africa.

And then what? How will you take care of that many feral dogs? I could see some being tamed and becoming pets or work animals, but most would be treated like wolves. As in killed off overtime as human settlements expand.

I am not one to defend China, but the whole global situation was basically doomed. China had two choices once the USA backed out of the oil trade globally, do nothing and die or try and take Alaska to secure oil til fusion could be secured.
