    Antifa, Just an Idea

Uh huh... But even accepting that for now, what you claim shouldn't mean you're starting to see it. The way you put things, a large majority of younger people in their early 20's to late teens should be identifying as conservative. The reality is that something like only a quarter to a third of...

If that's true, and has been for at least 20 years, and if it has the importance you attach to it, we should see that conservative views predominate youth and teen culture. That's blatantly obviously not the case. Therefore some part of the proceeding argument or assumption must be equally...

What, if anything, do you have that supports that? Because the only data I can find seems to be very different. https://www.statista.com/statistics/978320/age-gap-marriage-men-women-france/ And for comparison, the USA:

You seem to be basing that off very little information. Basically just the fact that they're self declared anti-fascists really. If that’s enough to consider a group interchangeable with Antifa, then we ought to consider russia an extension of Antifa. Whilst I think we can agree russia are...

    Antifa, Just an Idea

Well, I didn't mean mine as an exaggeration, and only accept that it could seem that way from certain perspective. Because antifa are in fact not mentioned at all, rather a group who are described as "anti-fascist" are. A label so vague and broad that it could equally apply to damn near...

Yes... Okay, I guess it could be considered an exaggeration of sorts then, when I said But, it's also not really related. The article says the main subject they're discussing "comes in the wake of" this antifa group tweeting about some jackass at a different church, which lead to the incredibly...

    Antifa, Just an Idea

Literally nothing about antifa in all of that. Just a religious leader saying that people fueled by hate, nazis, white supremacists and people calling for murder are bad. What's so objectionable about any part of that? Or even unusual for a religious leader.

Is that a case in point? I didn't know that Russia's gay community were ever really considered particularly or specifically allied to the communist revolutionaries, so being thrown to the wolves by them hardly feels like back stabbing?

Yes it's a false dichotomy, because those are sweeping and inaccurate generalisations. Trump himself has pushed hard on the vaccines, I absolutely guarantee you that the huge majority of people who identify themselves as left-wing do not support paedophilia, and there are even people who...

And as the last little exchange should have made clear, that's hardly a problem specific to the left or right of American politics. It's a symptom of the ridiculous, toxic, false dichotomy "us vs them" of modern American politics. And to a lesser degree, other similar western countries. The...

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:2017_Charlottesville_vehicle-ramming_attack.webm Yeah, those people he plows into didn't do anything to his car but bounce off it, and that doesn't look much like someone who's just trying to get away. Thank you though for assisting with my illustrative example.

As I said in the bit I snipped, it was actually intentionally baiting to a degree. OTOH, I would never phrase it as "The other side does it too." because that would identify me far too closely with the kind of lunatics who commit such acts, and the left which I have never said I belong to and...

I was drawing a connection to the example, yes. Partly to draw a particular kind of response to show what would actually happen if there was a left wing terror attack; denial. Exactly the same as if/when there's a right wing terror attack. It's dismissed as fake, a bad faith actor, or clearly...

Yes, she was a victim and I personally believe her killing was unjust though a somewhat understandable mistake. That doesn't change the circumstances before that though, does it? She was attempting to violently force entry to the building. As did many others. Such as those listed. If you're not...

Maybe some left wing loony will ram a car into a crowd at a political rally. Do you think that would be enough for them to acknowledge an extremist fringe exists and can pose a threat? And in other cases they smashed windows, broke down doors and barricades and forced their way through police...

I would certainly hope so! Regardless of political affiliation, people who storm a government building ought to face punishment. If anything, harsher would be better. Because again, I believe the 46 month sentence I mentioned earlier is one of the harshest so far.
