Nobody was tying to field stealth-fighters with laser weapons in WW2. Back then they would send fleets of bombers, fully accepting that a bunch of the would get blown out of the sky on each mission.

"Air-cooled" means "heats up the air around it" which means "leaves trail of hot air behind it" which means "not stealthy".

Far more than a missile, a laser or any other sort of directed-energy weapon is going to require Line Of Sight. And if they are sending that much energy through the air, it is not going to be invisible. Even if the wavelength the laser uses is UV or IR, the atmosphere it heats up is going to show.
