    All that means is they did the right choice and went for the easier alternatives. If you can ride something without it immediately trying to kill you, you can domesticate it. It's just a matter of time, blood, and sweat.

    You can domesticate Zebras, it's just not easy. In particular German colonial forces made use of em.

    Yup, modern APFSDS run on absurd chamber pressures which erode even high-tech barrels. There's really not much you can do to alleviate it as well, aside from exotic material usage and having plenty of spares laying around. I believe Russia and Ukraine have similar issues with their artillery...

    The Hipper's spare torpedoes were held near aircraft handling cranes, in addition there appears to be a rail system for the torpedoes to be hung under, which leads to both sets of tubes.

    I don't think they had any reloads. Their tubes were on the stern of the ship, with no rails to transport the torpedoes or anything.
