    I have no clue whatsoever on modding. The most I did so far, was installing these expansions things you need for the majority of mods, and even that came with a very step-by-step instruction. The... cache files?

    Same reason why the writer of an infamous incestous brothers fanfic gets hired to write the sequel to a well-known webcomic. Because their work causes a reaction. It doesn't matter that said reaction is "Burn it with fire, and bury the creator alive!", it caused a strong emotional reaction.
