Without Vietnam the Communists will take the country, which will validate the idea of domino theory, so I'd say yes. I suppose though if the US had competent leadership/advice about the history of China-Vietnam they could wait for the inevitable Vietnamese/Chinese falling out and cut a deal...- Word Count: 120
