Aliens at Area 51

So... it looks like people power failed again. The aliens of Area 51 will not be freed today.

But this still begs the question, does anyone have any ideas what kind of aliens the US Government has locked up in Area 51?

Or what advances in technology we can credit to these visitors?

Are they being kept in captivity and if so, what kind of conditions? Are we talking dungeons and padded cells or gilded cages kind of confinement with fancy alien cuisine and regular access to media sources and lines of communication without intelligent life such as Fortnite or Youtube comment sections?

I'm thinking Sectoids. 1990's era UFO Defense style Sectoids too.... not the fancy Firaxis XCom game ones. Many people have disputed them coming here to harvest our DNA... which is fair I suppose, but I wouldn't be surprised if these aliens were actually some sort of though criminals, perhaps glitches or flaws in their cloning and genetic engineering of large numbers of life forms resulted in a few exceptional Sectoids who decided to buck the trend and after scanning the cosmos for signals that most reflected their newfound interests of freedom, individual rights, ballooning and atmospheric phenomena, ended up in the United States circa 1947.

So please, lend us your fan theories, keep in mind what forum this is in. The only requirement is to substantiate your theories with a thin veneer of canon source material and healty helpings of apocrypha and fandom theorycrafting.

Well, obviously the aliens are actually the last survivors of a race that were made up of the only honest politicians in the universe, so we're keeping them hidden away at Area 51 because such purity must be protected (plus they actually like Brussel Sprouts, so we're not too certain on their claims of being honest politicians)

Some say they were a part of an advanced scout force, where they were planning on launching an invasion of Earth, starting with Cleveland, others state that they were just there to sell things. So that's why LeBron left the Cavs? To save Earth from an alien invasion? I'm not sure it will make anyone in Cleveland feel better, they'd probably rather live with the Visitors occasionally eating people in East Cleveland if it meant they still had LeBron James.

...I'm going to have to look it up, because I am not sure. Gotta love new references.

I'll give another hint. Allegedly, there were three aliens from this incident, a father/son pair, and an uncle. There are rumors there was a fourth, but said alien was able to shape shift as needed to conceal his presence.
