ASOIAF/GOT All Northerners are turned into “Cimmerians” right before King Robert enters the North?

They have sudden inclinations to partially abandon “civilized” modes of living in favor of a more Hunter-Gatherer lifestyle with trade and raiding

Everybody from the South wonders why just about everyone is pretty buff looking, even the Manderly’s, or why they barely wear clothes

And this applies to the “ethnic groups” such as the Crannogmen, Skagosi, Mountain Clans and regular Northmen

The Wildlings themselves are confused as to why they’re being raided back by buff Southerners

How do things go in the long run?

Their a race of Barbarians from Earth's distant "Hyperborian Age" and by the looks of it, Iron Age-Hunter-Gatherers of multiple skills and physical prowess with Conan being their prime exemplar

These primitives managed to destroy an entire Aquillonian(Roman expy) City that was being used as a way for future colonisation efforts. And the Aquillonians were way more advanced than the Cimmerians, even.

In Cimmeria, Conan is only slightly above average. They're in some way descended from the survivors of the sinking of Atlantis.

The Cimmerians are in some ways similar to the Ironborn, though they don't apparently have as much lead in their diets. They tend to break up into villages that constantly raid each other and band together only against outsiders. Pretty much every person is trained as a warrior but also has a day job in the village when not raiding. They're going to be hideously disorganized by Westeros standards, made up for by the fact that every last farmer can take on an entire squad of soft southlanders and win.

Note that Cimmeria is basically Scotland. Indeed the British Isles are the highest mountains of Cimmeria, after said continent sank beneath the sea (apparently the Atlanteans didn't learn their lesson the first time). It's not clear to me that they'll keep their barbarian ways without the land they lived in, the gloomy always-rainy and harsh mountainlands were essential to the Cimmerians keeping their heritage.

Note that Cimmeria is basically Scotland. It's not clear to me that they'll keep their barbarian ways without the land they lived in, the gloomy always-rainy and harsh mountainlands were essential to the Cimmerians keeping their heritage.

The premise here sorta makes it that they can't help but instinctively feel like partially going barbarian



Otherwise they'll grow "decadent" relatively quickly, as "barbarian tribes" ended up becoming "civilised" after taking over the civilisations they conquered and deciding that "Wow, all this technology and sedentary lifestyle's nice"

Do the various northerners still keep their main characteristics that set them apart from each other? Like the Boltons and their sadism and those cannibals off the coast (if they count as part of the North). Is Ned-Cimmerian still honorable by Conan standards?

Roose is a muscular health freak as well, Ramsay, not so much but physically powerful....too physically “decadent” somehow

The Manderly’s are still fat but a different sort of fat, as in that fat is like the Kingpin’s

Cimmerian Ned is both honorable by Conan standards and well really nice even for a Lord, though he’s of no interest in raiding or adventuring like Conan, he still has the whole “These are my people slaver, I demand you send back every single Northerner you decadent fools have enslaved.” thing

Basically, even down to the Smallfolk, he will fight for their sakes and in turn they love him even in Bolton lands
