Yeah I already discussed this in length it's people literally incapable of paying attention because they went in there for outrage and dam were they not going to let it go, now they're making claims that it was just walked back even though there is literally 0 proof of it.

The show gives the answers if you've paid attention to it and the lore, frankly the only thing that throws me off is why Shady Sands is in L.A but so far

Issue 1. Vault Tec dropping the nukes themselves is debunked
This is wrong because the speech of Cooper's wife takes place prior to the requisition of REPCONN which was bought by RobCo either in 2075 or 2076
The Courier: "REPCONN's history."
Tour guide: "REPCONN's illustrious history began way back in 2054, shortly after the famous Delta XI rocket was completed and launched. REPCONN's initial focus was on the development of fuel to be used in orbital propulsion in response to the energy crisis of 2052. Sad times, indeed. The company really took off when RobCo purchased REPCONN in late 2076 to develop unmanned rockets to explore the solar system."
The Courier: "Tell me about RobCo."
Tour guide: "RobCo industries purchased REPCONN in 2075 to assist with some of RobCo's military projects, as well as developing unmanned space exploration. The relationship between RobCo and REPCONN is mutually beneficial, and we hope that both companies bolster each other well into the next century."
(Also lol shitty Obsidian writing can't get consistency right just like Bethesda)
The timeline gives Vault Tec either months at worse case scenario to two years best case scenario, so while they did express intent their main goal of course was to get the investors present to buy their vaults so logic dictates they wouldn't launch or make attempts to launch nukes at-least until their investors got their vaults produced like wise this would have had to wait until at-least Vault 31,32,33 was already built meaning that Vault Tech had one year or two years to build a triple Vault system.

They were also demonstrably not done by 2077, this is a fact mentioned in Fallout 4's newscaste
r
Turning to economic news of the day. Vault-Tec stock continues to rise as tensions with China reach an all-time high. With the world poised on the brink of war, Vault-Tec is reporting a record number of reservations in Vaults around the country. Vault-Tec announced a continuation of their popular "Welcome Home" promotion. They report openings are still available in area Vaults 81, 111, and 114. Since debuting Vault 76 last year, in honor of America's Tercentenary, Vault-Tec continues to expand with plans for well over 100 Vaults around the country."
If they didn't intend to continue expanding they wouldn't be actively still selling seats for Vaults 81, 111, 114. So no China still launched the nukes it should have been OBVIOUS when Fallout 4 has a Chinese Submariner outright mention he was told to launch nukes and P.A.M a precognitive robot also said nukes were launched by China neither of the two have a reason to lie and even Bethesda haters can't say this was a retcon out of spite because Bethesda wrote this lore.

You can't go "UR BeThESThA rEtCoNnED CuZ tHeY hAtE NV wRiTeRS" because this lore was written by Bethesda and so they couldn't have spite retconned this even if you believed that
🤷

Issue 2. Wah Wah 😭😭😭 chalk board retconned New Vegas! Is debunked
PXL_20240415_193008764.MP32.jpg

I color coded the board to make it as simple as possible for people with no pattern recognition.

Green = Event
Red= AFTER Event

G -> R -> G -> R -> G -> R -> = ?
Answer = G

Now criticize the show for not showing a date on the nuke but it's very obvious that this board for SCHOOL CHILDREN is supposed to show a sequence of events, lines leading to the next event and then boxes telling you the dates of the event.

Fall of Shady Sands means a decline, Falls don't always happen immediately and it's actually a phrase that's been used before.

But Scoobs HUR DUR if it was declining why no mention in New Vegas? They did you just weren't paying attention. You know what happened in 2277? Let me pull the fucking timeline
Snip-it_1714367091034.jpg

First Battle of Hoover Dam, around the same time the Divide got nuked killing a tremendous amount of NCR forces and significantly ruining their logistical ability.
NCR would have needed this supply line open to reinforce the Mojave - and Hoover Dam."
Ulysses: "The Dam. That Old World Wall. The Bear, NCR, couldn't be allowed to reach it easily. Long 15... Canaan... both bad enough. Kimball, Caesar, House... you'd think their whole world was that wall, cutting the Colorado. If I'd never laid eyes on it, never spoke of it... but once found, it was all Caesar could see. That, and the flag beyond it, another symbol, big enough to challenge him. And the Divide, one of the roads to it - Legion was tasked with cutting that artery. If you can't kill the Bear in one stroke, bleed it, starve it. That kind of murder... it's what any of the Legion would have done. Now... the Divide belongs to history."
Ulysses mentions the importance of the route and there's multiple NCR rangers littered across the divide from the desperation of finding a route to be able to use
Courier: "Those bodies in the silo were NCR soldiers... some special forces."
Ulysses: "Might have been. Once. To the Divide they came... in the Divide, they rest."
They sent multiple waves of NCR rangers many of which died, now if it wasn't so important they wouldn't be sending a considerable amount of rangers. We know that in the Mojave they're only able to spare one to deal with the Fiends
  1. Courier: "The Fiends?"
    Col. James Hsu: "I sent one of my rangers after their leader to try and destabilize them. He didn't return. Hell of a thing, losing a ranger. You come to depend on them. And they come through for you so often, you forget it can happen."
    (Col. James Hsu's dialogue)
And 50 Rangers is considered a considerable number by Chief Hanlon (Which is around the same amount you see dead or marked in the Divide) and he mentions loosing a thousand soldiers every year since the first battle of Hoover Dam and that it's not same to keep up the level of losses.
Maybe fifty rangers will die on that dam. We lose over a thousand troopers every year. Being here is crazy. Getting out's the only sane thing to do.
And Colonel Hsu is literally in command of the bulk of the NCR troops but can barely spare any to deal with Fiends (1 was all he could send)
No, and thanks to General Oliver for that. Colonel {shoo} Hsu is at McCarran. Most of the New Vegas troopers are under his command.
Kimball mentions a NCR soldier originating from their core territories suffering from water shortages, also a interesting comment about the NCR still having some areas recovering from the war with the Brotherhood.
Born in a tin shack on the outskirts of One Pine, Jeremy Watson never had it easy. His father worked as a caravan guard on the Short Loop, and his mother, like many Californians, braved the ruins of the Old World as a prospector. They suffered through water shortages, raider attacks, and the Brotherhood War.
Which matches Chief Hanlon's consistent statements and other lore indicating the massive water shortages the NCR was suffering from. So yeah they were declining and this was mentioned in New Vegas anyone who says otherwise just didn't pay attention.

Issue 3. NCR is destroyed 😱😱😱😱 how could they!!! Is Debunked
fallout-shady-stands3.jpg

It's literally in front of your face bruh, this one is honestly the stupidest arguement of everything to complain about on the show. Anyone who actually paid attention to the lore would know the territory expands more than just a single city.

And the retarded ass why don't we see more NCR is because of people not paying attention so I'll just repost this quote

Episode 6. 40:00 mark. Sorrel Booker and his NCR Sheriffs mentioned that he's the "President" of the NCR .

40:25 the Ghouls calls BS on Sorrel being president then mentions Moldaver, Sorrel then says she's the flame mother but that "someone has to step up and bring some order around here".

Keep in mind Sorrel's jurisdiction apparently covered the entire town of Filly and more. 42:00 mark Sorrel has a "WANTED" posted for Moldaver.

Episode 7. 06:30 mark, one of the NCR residents is interrogated by the Ghoul because Moldaver's people are keeping her hidden and that she's going to "rebuild" something better.

So they're hinting that people are fighting over leadership and Moldavor is the number 1 person candidate in unifying the NCR.

Reminder the area of the show covered a small southern fraction of the Bone Yard so you wouldn't see any NCR forces outside of Moldaver's remnants.

Lucy starts off in the Santa Monica area and the furthest know distance she travels up to before having to backtrack is Lankershim
Fallout_Season_1_Amazon_CX404_bg.jpg

The show makes a point to have Lucy sleep at night and shows us every transitions of resting before moving.

She has like 2-3 days that pass by after the La kershim episode, with no vehicle she is limited by the amount of distance she can travel on foot. So the coverage should be less than 100 miles since most of Season 1 was back tracking. So
yeah no shit you didn't see any NCR communities she was literally spending the entire season in the most abandoned areas while the rest of the NCR was in a power struggle.

TLDR; Yes the NCR are still alive, episode 6 confirms it and Lucy never traveled to any intact NCR territory which is why you don't see anything but Moldaver's remnants.
