An odd scenario - Mexican Republic invites Polish exiles and immigrants to Texas in 1830s?

There is also an option if migrating Poles would be too late to save or reenforce the Texas area, for the Mexican government to sponsor their settlement in the Rio Grande valley, Santa Fe New Mexico area, or the even more important San Francisco Bay and Monterey area of California.

Of course thinking of the west coast brings up another idea, the British, in a ‘humanitarian’ gesture, sponsoring Polish refugee settlements in the Columbia Valley of the shared Oregon Country, to strengthen Britain’s claim to the mouth of the river south of the 49th parallel when it comes time to partition. On the plus side, for the Poles, the weather won’t be so damn hot as in Texas!
