I'd imagine die trying to fight the unstoppable tide. Possibly try and take a bunch of nulls out of the Galaxy maybe? The Milky Way is utterly done regardless of his actions though.

What if it occurs much earlier long before the Men of Iron rebel and the powers are sorta regulated, varies from world to world and tech meant to cancel or “channel” it properly was made

It's far far to many people is the issue my dude. Basically anyone without iron and I mean iron will. Becomes a demonic portal not to mention chaos itself would become more powerful. As you just gave them one hell of a power boost. By making humanities emotions more nutrious and delicious. This is akin to asking if everyone got the force tommorow. The answers in both situations is the vast majority of humanity falls. People (not all but like 85%) to undisciplined and emotional.

The vast majority die and the remainder probably alongside their advanced technology decide to go and master their powers AND themselves and fix the horrible world their majority created

I’m imagining that the entire Milk Way galaxy collapses into a giant Eye of Terror like gateway into the Warp. Maybe a small minority of the galaxy’s planets could survive if they are on the extreme outskirts of the galaxy.

If the Emperor doesn’t die in the initial months, maybe he can use his great psychic might to save himself and a small number of other humans (presumably the most strong willed psykers who don’t fall to Chaos) and escape into deep space in generation ships, hoping to make it to another galaxy that hasn’t literally gone to hell.
