To anyone who doesn’t know, by which I presume the majority of everyone here and even our sister sites

Kengan Asura and its sequel Kengan Omega are about the “Kengan Matches” which are a way used by Japanese Businessmen to “settle disputes” without getting bloody or really conflict-y

First series is about 56 year old Kazuo Yamashita, a down on his luck Salaryman who encounters 28 year old Tokita Ohma, a Badass Martial Artist able to beat giant boars to death for food whilst the latter is fighting a fighter from the Kengan Association

Yamashita ends up being told by his over-boss a Mr Nogi that he’ll be in charge of sponsoring Ohma for the Kengan matches and even gives the guy a HUGE loan to establish a “company” without any actual business so as to enter a tournament that would decide who will be the Chairman Head of the Kengan Association

For a series about businessmen using fighters as chess pieces, the fighters themselves are surprisingly human and likeable, even the ones that are assassins/mercenaries and willing to kick people’s heads and use argentine backbreakers on downed opponents turn out to be pretty swell guys.

It even has a 2-chapter crossover-battle between Ohma and Ryu

Also, in-regards to fights, the only rules are you can’t bring and use weapons like swords, knives and guns to the fight and it’s “Anything Goes” so characters can bite ears off and kick each other in the balls or strangle them.

And there are multiple styles allowed, so a Boxer may fight a Sumo Wrestler and a Pro Wrestler could fight an Aikido User among many other combinations.
