Ghostbusters/Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Xander Harris' father finally leaves his mother. Because he found out the truth: Xander is not his biological son.

As his family falls apart during Summer Break, Xander uses what money he has for a trip out to where his actual father is: New York City.

The guy was a doctoral candidate at Columbia University when he and Xander's mom met and did the deed-while Xander's "dad" was dating her. But honestly, Xander feels that he has nothing to lose.

And so, Xander Harris finds himself in New York City, Manhattan, in front of a familiar firehouse. He walks in, and the secretary takes him to the boss.

"Peter... Venkman?"

"That's me, kid. Can I help you?"

"Well... Believe it or not? You're my dad."

"... I don't believe it."

Some paternity tests later confirm that Xander is indeed Peter's son. Xander, already in a bad spot emotionally, is not expecting anything.

Xander says:

"Look... I don't expect you to give a damn. Or give any money. My life's been full of disappointments... Why should this be any different? I just... I dunno..."

Peter nods.

"Wanted to understand yourself. See the truth of your parentage and put your own experiences in context. To better understand where you should go in life."

Xander stares. Peter scowls.

"Hey, I do have doctorates in psychology and parapsychology."

Xander shrugs.

"Fair... So... I... I mean-"

"Look, kid... My own dad was barely around in my life. And when he was, he was nothing but trouble. I... I can't promise I'll be better, okay? It's a hell of a thing to drop on me."

"Yeah, bit of a shock for me, too."

Winston snorts.

"Yeah, that's your boy, Peter."

"Thanks Winston," Peter said, a bit annoyed, before turning back to his son, "But... Look. Let's just... Work together. You can stay with me. We get to know each other, and try to figure this out. If all you want in the end is just a check every month and a Christmas card a year? We can do that. But... I'm willing to try if you're game."

Xander shrugs.

"I... I guess. What do you guys do around here, anyway?"

Cue Peter just smiling.

Xander Harris thus comes back to Sunnydale with some unique work experience and a strange but caring family, right as a certain Buffy Summers transfers to his high school...

Reed and Sue's first child is still named Franklin. He didn't get cosmic altering powers as a mutant, but rather, he got Reed's stretchy powers. Other than that though, the lad is almost entirely unlikely his parents in every way. He's an idiot savant who loves to eat, make friends, and wants to go on adventures! And has turned his stretchy powers into something deadly, rather than just a gimmick as with his father.

Ben Grimm and Johnny naturally love the crazy little tyke and his wild ways. Sue loves her son too, though wishes he wasn't so reckless.

Reed despairs of teaching him anything, as inevitably his son will respond with:

"Oh, so it's a mystery thing!"

And he keeps bringing home strays.

Tiny Franklin in a blue FF uniform sitting on the Hulk's shoulders, his legs stretched around his neck to become kind of a collar. He's patting Hulk's head and telling his dad, "He followed me home! He's part of my crew now!"

Reed: "I am so sorry about this."

Hulk: "Is okay. Hulk like Tiny rubber band boy."

Later...

Dr. Strange: "Look what got caught in the wards at my place."

Reed: "I am so sorry about this."

Franklin: "Dad! Doctor Weird has the BEST HOUSE! I'm gonna make him part of my crew!"

Later still...

Tony: "Hey, Reed?"

Reed: "Tony? How can I help you?"

Tony: "Buddy... you... uh... are you maybe missing something?"

Reed: "Wha? No-- oh, damn. Is Franklin over there?"

Tony: "He was trying to run off with one of my armors. I'm impressed he made it past the security system."

Reed: "I am so sorry about this."

Tony: "Just pick him up, wouldja? We're already out of lunchables. Do you even feed this kid?"

Even laterer...

Doom: "RICHARDS~!"

Reed: "... Doom. Why are you calling so late?"

Doom: "It is still early in Latveria. I am calling to inform you that I am arranging a playdate between your inferior specimen of a son and my heir, Kristoff. They shall have lunch. There will be educational games played. I may set up a live band to play for them."

Reed: "Why would you even want a playdate for-- he's already there isn't he?"

Doom: "Apparently having stolen one of your rocket planes. I shall now bask in the smug satisfaction that as a parent I am your superior in every way."

Yes, little Franklin Richards is essentially Monkey D. Luffy, reincarnated. With a very different father and a very different world, but with the same hopes and dreams and good heart. God help us all.
