Treaties of Rome between Italy and Independent State of Croatia

As usual, mainstream Communist historiography is full of lies. Left repeatedly stated that the Ustashi had "sold" the Croatian shore to Fascist Italy, thus betraying Croatia and its interests. While it is a historical fact that Italy did occupy large sections of Croatian shore, the mainstream argument glosses over many important factors.

The main factor is that Ante Pavelić did not willingly cede Croatian territory, as alleged by the Communist propaganda. During his negotiations with Mussolini, Pavelić argued for maintaining the post-1920. Italo-Croatian borders. While these were hardly fair to Croatia, they were still far more favorable than what Italy had been promised in London in 1915.

Looking it now, he makes a few mistakes:
1) in the introduction he repeated the myth of Adolf Hitler considering Ustashi "brutal"
2) he does not appear to realize there were two Ante Pavelić, though that does not really lead to many mistakes
3) It was not Pavelić that gave up the land, as I pointed out in the article; Italy merely insisted on applying the London Agreement of 1915, and Croatian government had very few means to oppose that.
4) The reason why Croats did not initially resist the Ustasha regime is because we have finally gotten our country back after 23 years. As for the Serbs, their "resistance" began even before the Ustasha regime came into power. Just read these:
5) Resistance movement in Croatia was initially dominated by Chetniks and was aimed against the Croatia itself, and any notion of Croatian independence. Chetniks were quite happy to cooperate with Italians BTW. Partisans only rebelled in 1942., in Dalmatia.

Other than that, is it OK. Although I have to note that while the Ustashi had little support initially, Chetnik and Communist Partisan crimes led to support increasing in certain areas.

Chetniks also collaborated with Italians in Montenegro and with the Germans inside rump Serbia as well. Although didn't you guys technically get your country back after almost 900 years? Given that Croatia was under the union with Hungary and then as part of Austria-Hungary, and the short lived State of Slovenes, Croats and Serbs wasn't really a unified state that was entirely dominated by Croats.

BTW, the same guy also made the video titled Serbia's Secret War and the Killer of Yugoslavia as well.

Independence, yes. Country? Debatable, as Croatia retained basically all symbols of statehood - the government, parliament, certain level of independence in internal affairs - all the way until 1918.
