Star Wars Ultimate Jedi High Council

This Jedi Council will be composed of twelve Jedi Masters, as per the Prequel Trilogy Jedi High Council with two special positions.

The 'Honorific' Title of "Grand Master" for the Wisest Member of the Council. In canon it's wisest and oldest, but I want to leave space for any special characters people may think are wiser then Yoda.

And "Master of the Order" for the Leader of the High Council. While in this thread your are appointing the Council Members, keep in mind that typically the Master of the Order is elected by his fellow Council Members and thus should be popular enough to not be removed by the Council by vote.

Also a Representative to the Republic (as opposed to a Representative of the Chancellor) can also be appointed to the Council.

Main Rule(s) at the Moment:

1. The Character Must Be a Jedi, Not a Sith (or about to fall to the Dark Side). Anakin Skywalker for most of his career is valid. Darth Vader is not. Further example, Revan at any point when he wasn't Darth Revan or otherwise a member of the Sith is valid. Likewise force users that have no connection or 'membership' in the Jedi order (such as Imperial Knights of the Legacy Era) or Nightsisters of Dathomir etc and the like would typically be excluded.

2. Membership can be tricky, especially when there was no Jedi Order. So therefore the Council can include former Jedi who might've left the Order but still served the (Light Side) the Force or seem like they'd be open to joining a reformed Order or joined it later such as Ahsoka Tano (when she hanged around with Luke for example) or Jolee Bindo (who left then entered the service of the Jedi Exile). This also includes people trained by the Jedi in lieu of there being no formal Jedi Order such as Cal Kestis, the Jedi Exiles companions such as Bao'dur or Ezra Bridger etc.

4. If you think the Jedi Council is a defunct institution or you want it destroyed or reformed in such a manner that it bears little resemblance to the actual Jedi High Council, make your own thread.

5. Jedi can be sourced from any licensed continuity that isn't a parody or the like. So the Lucas or Subsequent Disney Canon, as well as the Extended Universe/Legends being the main ones. And be sure to state which version of a Jedi you are talking about in regards to some characters, such as Luke Skywalker for example who has had an extensive career both in Disney Canon as well as Legends canon. Also only one version of a character. No multiple versions of Luke Skywalker and the like.

Other Guidelines:

To be a member of the Council is a Leadership position. Jedi Council Members should be nominated based on their leadership qualities and whether their vision and efforts can deliver the best outcomes for the Jedi Order in serving the Republic, the Force and Galactic good in general. So this isn't a popularity contest for who you feel is the greatest Jedi, or the strongest or most powerful Jedi or best combatant, but who you think would serve the Council best in fulfilling its purpose. Though there is latitude in personal viewpoints on Jedi and their purpose.

Okay, I've got a list. It's got five way-back-when Old Republic Jedi, five Prequel-era Jedi, and two post-ROTJ Jedi (from the orginal continuity, obviously).

------------------------------

Jedi High Council

1. Grand Master: Odan-Urr

2. Master of the Order: Nomi Sunrider

3. Representative to the Republic: Arca Jeth

4. Vodo-Siosk Baas

5. Memit Nadill

6. Yoda

7. Plo Koon

8. Ki-Adi Mundi

9. Qui-Gon Jinn

10. Obi-Wan Kenobi

11. Luke Skywalker (from the end of The Unifying Force)

12. Jacen Solo (also from the end of The Unifying Force)

------------------------------

I leave out the typical "powerful, but way too edgy and/or unstable" types. I mean, it'd be hilarious to create a council that has Ulic Qel-Droma, Revan, Dooku, Mace Windu, Anakin Skywalker, Vergere... and various such quixotic or assertive types on it. It would certainly be an eclectic and ludicrously powerful assembly... but it doesn't exactly promise stability.

Still working on my list but I must say, there's a lot of names I'm going to have to look up (literally all of the Old Republic Jedi) from your Council list! :geek:

I nominate Mira from Kotor 2. She is resourceful and has been around real people for a long time. Unlike a lot of Jedi in the order. She will speak for those who are being ignored by the Old Republic.

Don't forget Exar Kun! :p

All in all, though? Nice list, especially in choosing Legends Luke over the broken, demoralized Canon Luke who had to be badgered into training Rey and completely exhausted himself when distracting Ben. Never mind serving on a Jedi High Council comprised of the Order's "greatest hits", so to speak.

Wouldn't really be fair to me to elevate peeps I've just learned of and just read Wookieepedia entries on but if I was going to allow them, just at a glance Odan-Urr whom I never heard of, and Nomi Sunrider (who with a name like that of course I heard of but know nothing aboot) clearly seem to deserve places on the Council. But without further ado...

Jedi High Council

1. Grand Master: Yoda - He's pretty much the iconic wise and experienced Jedi so I have no trouble with him being the honorary, symbolic and still legitimate heart of the Order. He provides wise council.

2. Master of the Order: Satele Shan (The Old Republic) - She's got some issues but overall, game demands aside, I feel she was a pretty good Master of the Order during her time in The Old Republic. She was willing to sacrifice a lot for the Republic and the Jedi Order and for the betterment of the galaxy at personal cost but didn't seem to forbid attachment as much as show the risks with it. She has wisdom, is conscientious, strong moral code, and doesn't put herself even above Padawans or lameass Republic Troopers. Plus a skilled Warrior and Commander and user of the Force.

3. Representative to the Republic: Kyle Katarn (New Jedi Order) - His background initially kind of put me off considering he ditched the Jedi thing before, but everything he did post-Jedi Knight games seemed to really help him develop as a Jedi. He was a great teacher and leader and obviously was an amazing warrior and agent. He has a lot of life experiences and the later novels revealed he was extremely politically astute and worked in the capacity of being a liaison to the Republic as well. So he'd be a good fit in this role.

4. Luke Skywalker (New Jedi Order, I suppose as of 'The Unifying Force') - I feel this is self explanatory. The only reservation I would have against using him as 'Master of the Order' is if his adventures abroad keep him busy attending the Council as a hologram as opposed to in person since he would be the head of the Order. But he'd easily be the second or third most important Master on the Council.

5. Mace Windu - Like a traditional Jedi but has a martial edge to him.

6. Qui Gonn Jinn - Qui Gonn is actually my idea of an ideal Jedi Master or pretty close to it. Perfect combination of wisdom and foresight, conscience and practicality. He's a strong believer in Jedi but is enough of a maverick to question authority without going too far IMHO. Even when he's being stubborn, it feels like it's not actual pride at play. Be good to have a sensible and respectfully contrasting voice on the Council which was denied to him in the PT.

7. Plo Koon - Everything I read and see about him seem to indicate he was a great Mentor to Ahsoka Tano and an excellent trainer and role model to younger Jedi/Padawans. Good sense of morals and ethics. Unflappable. And a good Commander and Leader to boot. Plus I need more aliens FFS.

8. Jacen Solo (New Jedi Order) - Kind of the one I'm unsure about because he did fall to the Dark Side... so maybe it'll be him at the end of the Vong War or something. After all he became 'One with the Force' way more then anyone else did. That has to count for something.

9. Meetra Sulik (Knights of the Old Republic) - The protagonist from the second Knights of the Old Republic game. I was pondering whether I'd want her on the Council considering her colorful history and background but her journey, in the games anyways, was one of exceptional learning and growth. She was the only one to submit to judgment to the Council after following Revan into battling the Mandalorians, exiled herself at the behest of the Masters and when she was needed and called upon, worked effortlessly in bringing old Jedi Masters and recognizing the worth in training new Jedi and bringing them into the Order. Like Kyle Katarn, she has some amazing experience, formidable abilities and would be a great leader and guide with her own unique viewpoints on things.

10. Kam Solusar (New Jedi Order) - Kam and Tionne helped run the New Jedi Order, Kam doing the operational stuff and Tionne doing the Archivist and Loremaster stuff. Both I feel would be essential.

11. Tionne Solusar (New Jedi Order) - Like seriously, between her and the old Jedi Librarian they had at the archives...

12. Cilghal (New Jedi Order) - Mon Calamari who can science solutions. Seems very affable as well for a Fish.
