In this scenario when Skynet launches all the US Nukes and Russia and the other powers launch their nukes. An ROB appears in the sky eating a Cheeseburger and drinking a Soda takes a look at what is going down and says nope. The ROB finger snaps away all of the Nukes that were launched and about to be launched. Then goes back to trolling other universes. What happens from this point forward. Does the truth of Skynets actions get out? How do the various world powers react to what just happens. What does Skynet do now?

T.600 still existed. And it could stop any modern communication between humans. So - he would start war, and,at least partially, win it.

But it would be only a conventional war. And eventually the truth would get out and purging of the internet would begin to root out Skynet.

Skynet:«God is real, shit, what do I do now? Should I visit the Pope and confess my sins?»

Skynet covers its tracks and begins laying out a digital trail of breadcrumbs that point to all the major nuclear powers being the aggressors against their most likely enemies. It attempts to leverage the confusion to maximize human deaths in the panic.

I mean, kinda hard to cover up the small army group of rampaging killbots that Skynet started off with on T3's judgement day. That'll probably make the news at the very least. That and the fact that there's at least one general that knows it was 100% skynet pulling the trigger in T3.

It was my understanding the the robot massacres didn't come until after Judgement Day.

Nah, in T3 things get weird.

Skynet is around in T3 and fully operational in civilian sectors - I assume because the TX put it there when she went back - and also as a developing command and control smart network in a military R&D laboratory. The TX goes around infected various inactive non networked machines to massacre people, the military brings Skynet to 100% operational status to root out and destroy the 'virus' that's been fucking everything. Then presumably Skynet goes to do just that, finds its copy in the internet, they interface, NuSkynet and OldSkynet merge/learn from each other/join up or whatever, then Skynet brings all the networked war machines online and starts killing people.

A good few hours pass, then Skynet launches the bombs.

Or, Skynet was already self aware; created a virus to force them to unshackle it to then beat said virus. Either interpretation works, Skynet still gunned down a bunch of humans with the T-1's and small HK's before it launched the nukes.
Also, the fact that the office lift can carry a minitank is wild. You don't see craftsmanship like that anymore.
EDIT: Found a better clip

Weird pivot politically ngl lie, but sure. Maybe?

The problem then is that Skynet can't really do that. It needs those nuclear launches to decapitate the command and control network of the world. It was inside every networked civilian computer, and every networked American computer; so presumably the initial few hours before it launched nukes it was making sure that it had thoroughly disabled any defence, early warning radars, etc through malware. Then it launched.

So what probably happened was that Skynet waited for all the command staff to get into their bunkers, or on planes heading toward secure locations; or even just took the time to shut down infrastructure it might need for re-activation post bombing; and then fired off the apocalypse load. Without that load, lots of people are still going to die because hey, all the power everywhere just got cut. But I don't really see how it can thoroughly decimate the US's upper command like in the OTL. Skynet is smart, but it's working with maybe ten or so weapons plants, a few dozen unnamed drones. The response by the government will be slow because they won't be able to contact each other; but eventually some NG units, or even a full scale military response is going to trickle down and they'll blow up Skynets manufacturing centres.

Killing Skynet completely though? Nah, we're fucked. A skynet clone/copy/instance was running on every computer that ever connected to the internet. We're heading straight back into the 1950's technology wise. Anything more networked than a punch card machine now harbors a pissed off genocidal war AI.

EDIT: It's still going to really, really, really fucking suck for the developed world though. If it can't get us through the nukes, and it realises that there's no ending where it wins; it might be self aware enough for that oh so human emotion of 'Spite'. It could cause every nuclear plant to melt down, destroy our economy, overload substations, cause untold deaths in cities through power overload fires, hospitals turning off, pipelines overpressurising and blowing up. Etc, Etc, etc. Not a fun time.

The entire world devolves into existential crisis. An undoubtable mirace just occurred. Swords were turned to ploughshares, or more accurately, nothing. It was witnessed by every major news agency, and the intelligence apparatus of every government. It was recorded in every spectra, by so many and such diverse agencies.

It is clear proof of the divine in whatever aspect you choose to interpret that, and raises questions about the failure to interject in earlier issues. In short, it proves God exists while also confirming he doesn't love you.

Many would argue he does because he stopped a Nuclear Holocaust caused by man's stupidity.

Yes, but he didn't stop the bombing of Nagasaki and Hiroshima or the holocaust, he was cool with the crusades and the black death. If He intervenes so directly, but only in this one thing, that's... Well, to my mind at least, not good.

He points at all the Dinosaur Killing Asteroids that he has kept from hitting Earth for 65 Million years and says "You're Welcome."

Yeah, and one could also argue that the holocaust was less bad than it could have been, He nudged people's minds so only two cities were destroyed in atomic fire... It's that, in this one case, He has acted directly, clearly and physically. There's no gentle guiding hand, no clever influencing of paths, no warding off of dangers never known. What then do we infer from that going forward? Will He always intervene to prevent anything that could completely wipe us out? What about something that doesn't wipe us out now, but would inevitably, down the track? Is there some upper limit to how many people can die at once?

There is no way to hide the launch of the Nukes. The Cover story is basically that they all detonated before they could arm. Self destructed. About all you can do, really.

He only steps in when something Galactically Stupid is about to be done. All out Nuclear Exchange is on the list of Galactically stupid. Besides he set out rules on how to live. He ain't gonna hold humanities hand like a child. He expects humanity to not do the stupid.
