Okay, but then what are you advocating for? Like, you claim that you want libertarian-conservatives like Rand Paul, but you're going to have to put in the work if that's what you want to see happen. Which means doing what Sunhawk suggested.
I mean, I suppose there's another route to getting the right people into office. And a good chunk of you people seem to be more interested in that route these days.
Ideally I am advocating for getting a Rand Paul-centrist GOP to coalesce and pull a comeback against the fringes of both parties.
Realistically I am saying that they only way the above happens is if the GOP first figures out a way to handle the election integrity issues.
If election integrity issues are not first addressed and handled, then running for any office is pointless
.
The GOP also has to stop acting like anyone who isn't voting D owes the GOP their vote and political funds/political activities. I am an Independent for a reason, and have purposefully not signed up as a GOP member because of how fucked-up and incompetent the GOP political machine has proven to be.
You don’t have to owe them anything lol. What you’ve just stated is “The GOP needs to look like this instead of how it is now!” “I should do absolutely nothing what so ever to make the GOP look how I want it to!”
My groups big thought leader has said “destroy the GOP, and rebuild it how I want it.” He’s also gone and started all the party apparatus to do so and has started a program to get people involved at every level of the GOP, because that’s what you have to do to change it.
You have really strong opinions about change to the GOP but you’ve just made a big argument for doing absolutely nothing.
Yes, because you and your thought leader are fools and fossils playing a game the Dems and Far-left already mastered, but without the media and institutional backing the Dems have.
It also doesn't help you let anti-Semites take active roles in you political sphere; that right there dooms pretty much any attempt at garnering good will among a lot of the nation. Maybe her positions have support in her local area, and among others parts of the Far-Right fringe, but they are poison pills in general elections.
You also haven't addressed election integrity issues that need to be solved before there is any point to actually attempting to run for office.
I see the same tired talking points of here that keep making the rounds in conservative circles, that keep acting like the game isn't rigged and active political engagement can still fix things. I see a lot of people thinking that they can somehow outplay the Dems by doubling down on failed strategies, or trying something the Dems already mastered a while ago.
I wish we had a political third option, because the fact is I don't think either political party truly represents me, and I think there are a lot of people who feel the same. We have a broken, rigged system, and no amount of going along with the charade will ever fix it, nor will doubling down on failed strategies will fix it.
Maybe the GOP can be saved, and we will see what happens in 2022, but I'm not going to give another dime to the GOP till they show some results.
