Tucker Carlson and the NSA

And yet despite literally fighting Afgan tribesman with no real SIGINT ability, we lost. I don't question the value of intelligence in warfare, what I do question is the value of the NSA and how its supposed value means it should be allowed to continue to trample upon American citizens instead of the foreign enemies it is allegedly fighting.
Except it isn't focused just on the combat zone. There are at least 3 different kind of Intel in the army. In simple terms.
Tactical, Strategic (FORSCOM), and Strategic (INSCOM). Tactical SIGINT is VERY valuable, but is only as useful as the tech we have. Still more useful then any other thing we have in combat. Strategic FORSCOM is focused on LSCO more so then Tactical. This can coincide with Tactical in some ways. INSCOM is strategic on the level that you are looking at everything, givenwhere you are assigned.

I'm curious. Why do you think it is that the US eventually lost the war in Afghanistan?

Not to get us too off topic, but I take it you have not been paying attention to events there in recent months? The Taliban started an offensive in May that has resulted in them-as we now speak-controlling more territory and population than the Afghan government. The campaign season isn't even close to being finished yet either and the consensus seems to be the Afghan Government has a few months left until the Taliban triumphantly enter Kabul.

I wasn't asking about 'what have been recent developments regarding conflict in Afghanistan,' I was asking what you think caused the US to eventually lose the war.

In a general sense then? We lost on the political battleground basically from late 2001 onwards; the fact we tried to construct an entirely new and overly centralized government for tribal Afghanistan in literally just 10 days is probably the biggest example of this. However, this is definitely a conversation for another thread.

Glad to know we won in Afghanistan with SIGINT. Care to remind me how much of the country is currently ruled by the Taliban?

If we had gone in the way the Mongols did, we wouldn't have needed intelligence because half the population would be charred bones in the sand

We don't need this shit to win modern wars if we fight those wars the way every hyperpower in history has fought them.

The IC also lied and manufactured evidence of super weapons and was routinely duped by British and French intelligence agencies...which landed us in Viet Nam and Iraq.

It was never in it to win it in the first place.

Our entire adventure in the middle east was done to weaken America and begin an era of.managed decline under orders from Beijing.

We were never going to win...because Neocons are whores and China is their pimp.

The US government has been completely co-opted by China. Has been since the Clinton Administration.
