Except it isn't focused just on the combat zone. There are at least 3 different kind of Intel in the army. In simple terms. And yet despite literally fighting Afgan tribesman with no real SIGINT ability, we lost. I don't question the value of intelligence in warfare, what I do question is the value of the NSA and how its supposed value means it should be allowed to continue to trample upon American citizens instead of the foreign enemies it is allegedly fighting.
Tactical, Strategic (FORSCOM), and Strategic (INSCOM). Tactical SIGINT is VERY valuable, but is only as useful as the tech we have. Still more useful then any other thing we have in combat. Strategic FORSCOM is focused on LSCO more so then Tactical. This can coincide with Tactical in some ways. INSCOM is strategic on the level that you are looking at everything, givenwhere you are assigned.
