I imagine this thread title will always be accurate, no matter what happens and what updates are out. Or even what game we're talking about.

Anyway, feel free to discuss anything to do with warhammer, be it 40, classic, AoS, 9th age, the skirmish games, etc.

I wonder what army are you collecting, for the people who are actually playing the physical tabletop game (I'm not one of them). I bet various kinds of Space Marine or Chaos are going to be overrepresented...

Martian Adeptus Mechanicus and House Taranis Knights, though if I end up picking up the new Kill Team Starter box that's coming out, I'll have a squad of Tau and SPESS MUHREENS too.

Where/when did that happen?

[EDIT]: Ok, I read the link. How is that a "Chaos God of Diversity". The entity they encountered made the Tau kill everything that was non-Tau.

Yeah I'm finding nothing about a "Chaos God of Diversity", nor can I find any references to the Tau on those pages of the BA Codex. Page 22 deals with the attack on Baal by the Tyranids.

Made them do that? Or they just decided to do that? The description of the creature is that it looked like a Tau creature with many features of all the different races present, and the only action we know it took is that it saved the Tau. The Tau themselves just didnt like that all that much or the creature and blamed the auxiliaries on it.

Could've just been a Greater Daemon fucking with them.

Remember, the Tau don't understand the Warp in the slightest. They took out a Keeper of Secrets once and thought they'd defeated Slaanesh.

I mean I guess it could be Tzeentch snorting a line of warp dust and saying, "watch this." Its also possible it is a real warp entity and a damn powerful one at that.

And 8th edition continues its pastime of shitting on old canon.

The Tau forming a Chaos God actively contradicts both Tau Lore and Chaos Lore.

It's not the tau, technically. It's thier auxiliaries and other aliens who made it, as a reflection of thier belief in the greater good.

So less Chaos God, and more "civic religion, 40k style".

Where/when did that happen?

It didn't "make" them do anything, they decided to do that once they learned of it because.....because....reasons.

Imperial Guard. Small right now. Gotta wait 6 months before I can start actually building the army. I will also have a kill team of deathwatch.
