    Friend-shaped xenomorph.

    Aliens and Predators Franchise Megathread

Yep! They can hint/allude to it, like they did in Dark Descent with the weird alien city (with maybe Space Jockeys in the walls?), but that just adds to the mystery.

    Aliens and Predators Franchise Megathread

Well, an entire human civilization was overrun by xenomorphs and then blown up, according to AvP's prologue. So, if you weren't stuck to a wall somewhere with an alien horror moving around in your chest (which'll soon be outside your chest), you were vapourized by an alien nuke because the...

    Aliens and Predators Franchise Megathread

IIRC you've covered most of them; I should've clarified that I meant it was the amount of ways of creating a Queen and viable hive from just one Drone, lol. Royal Facehuggers, Egg Morphing, Drone molting, Praetorian evolution... So many ways of creating a Queen.

    Aliens and Predators Franchise Megathread

If you take the EU into account, the sheer amount of ways a single Drone can start a hive is nightmarish. One Drone, you're screwed. They adapt to pretty much any situation to create a hive.

    Aliens and Predators Franchise Megathread

The Xenomorph is kinda amazing. There are so many options for it to reproduce and establish a hive that even just one Drone aboard your ship or colony means that within a week you could be overrun by hundreds of the bastards (host amount dependent). Eggmorphing; molting and evolution; Royal...

    Aliens and Predators Franchise Megathread

Yeah, it was dying and looking for a place to expire. Ripley ruined those plans, haha. The longer lifespan thing started with Aliens onwards (since those Drones and Warriors were weeks' old by that point).

    Aliens and Predators Franchise Megathread

They definitely secrete some sort of chemical or biological compound to do this. They're capable of it since that's how they build their hives. No mention of any retroviruses though IIRC, but since they retroactively introduced the whole Black Goo thing (like instead of planting an embryo which...

    Aliens and Predators Franchise Megathread

It's pretty much a mystery how the Egg got on board to Sulaco; some think the Queen managed to carry one away when she decided to stow aboard the Dropship. The lead up to it, and Hicks' survival (yes, it turns out that wasn't Hicks in Alien 3 but a marine that looked like him) is explained in...

    Aliens and Predators Franchise Megathread

Well, they needed explosive tip caseless to kill the xenomorphs in the second film. Outside of the Aliens versus Predator films, we don't have much to go on there (in Isolation, the 357 can't kill any of the Drones, but that may just be for game design purposes). With the AvP films, however, a...

    Aliens and Predators Franchise Megathread

Both are pretty much canon. Alien: Isolation's Sevastopol infestation only started with the one Drone born from Foster (Marlow's wife). That same drone is confirmed to be the one that initially stalked Amanda throughout the first part of the game until she yeets it into the gas giant, meaning...

    Aliens and Predators Franchise Megathread

Kane's Son also used tactics and purposeful intimidation. Additionally, the aliens seen in the other films were bloody intelligent -- even the Runner in 3. The Praetomorph only really displayed intelligence on a few occasions, when on the Covenant; notably when it took out the security cameras...

    Aliens and Predators Franchise Megathread

The Praetomorph was basically just a rabid animal with only a bit of intelligence (such as knowing what the cameras were). I mean, it was randomly attacking stuff because they moved. The real dangers are how fast those Facehuggers of his make can inject the Goo into a victim: Just momentary...

    Aliens and Predators Franchise Megathread

There were cut scenes in Covenant, IIRC, that had basically dead/fossilized Eggs. He was basically trying to recreate the Xenomorph, not create it. Somewhere along the way, it got muddled in production, and Scott now being senile and losing his touch... yeah, recipe for disaster.

Might just be a Risa-like planet of what are basically Thai Ladyboys, not actual aliens. shrug

Rainbow Tumour Xenomorphs would heatbite you in another way, if you catch my drift. :p Gotta have the xenocidal monsters be inclusive, after all. In seriousness, if some Rainbow moron actually tried to make the fucking xenomorph more "inclusive", it genuinely wouldn't shock me because they've...

    Aliens and Predators Franchise Megathread

The art of suspense and horror has been lost because most viewers' attention spans are so short they make DEI careers look like they have solid job security. Yes, that especially includes American, and by extension Western like in the UK, audiences and movie-goers. Ironically, it's why a lot...

    Aliens and Predators Franchise Megathread

From what people are saying, it's pretty much a spiritual remake of Alien: Isolation in a lot of aspects.

And you've got IGN, the fucking neckbeards, who gave that game a low score because you "couldn't kill the Alien". smh Didn't they give a sailing game a low score because of "too much water", or was that just a meme? Knowing it's IGN, I wouldn't be surprised if that were true. shrug

    Aliens and Predators Franchise Megathread

Oh, don't get me wrong, there have been a few gems in gaming since then, such as Alien: Isolation being an example from the A, P, and AvP franchises, but most games these days are either mobile, shooter clones, lootbox-orientated and dumbed down PvP games, et cetera. As much as I think Fortnite...
