    Well, to be fair the daleks always came out on top, except for that weird comic where the author basically had a hard on bias for the cybermen [to the point where their timeline changes had them as the opponents in the Last Great Time War because reasons reasons].
    In the case of Doomsday, it was especially one-sided: You had Last Great Time War era daleks fighting cybermen who were pretty much what we, in the modern day, could likely create in half a century [fun fact, Lumic in Pete's World actually found the crashed Mondassian cyberman ship from The Tenth Planet and all the corpses within, and he used them to create his own cybermen. It appears that The Tenth Planet's events didn't happen in Pete's World because it looks like those cybermen crashed and died, and Mondas likely went poof in the middle of space before they got to the Solar System].

    In a darkly amusing irony, the only real way to basically unfuck outselves would be if we actually had an ultra-Right government like what the average Lefty fears when something is one step Right of Stalin.

    Yeah, the game's dead already. There are less than one hundred people playing it at any time.
    I get the feeling that's going to be the only DLC they'll release from the road map before the game is completely abandoned.

    Homeworld 1? Kushan Heavy Corvette.
    Catcalysm? Somtaaw Acolyte.
    Homeworld 2? Torn between Hiigaran Flak Frigate and Hiigaran Battlecruiser, though the Vaygr have some badass designs.
    Homeworld Mobile's designs are pretty much just modified 2's.
    3 isn't even worth mentioning.

    For me, personally?
    HW1: Kadeshi Multibeam Frigate, cos it rolls like a crocodile when it fires
    HW:C: Kun Laan, you start with it, end with it, and she's such a useful ship. Dat siege cannon.
    HW2: Eughhhhhh uhhh they're all so laaaaaaaaaaaame...The Dreadnought? I like how it looks and it has a decent selection of guns?

    Oh, the Kadeshi Multibeam was amazing. I remember hearing about "Multibeam Frigates" in Cataclysm and was like "oh, fucking sweet!"...
    And then I built them in-game.
    Yeah, it was a bit of a disappointment to young me, after remembering the Kadeshi ones, lol.
    At least the Bentusi Super Acolyte made up for it. o_O
    I did like the Beast more, since you had access to older Homeworld ships, like the Turanic Bandits and Brigands. And the Heavy Corvettes, heh.
    In the files, apparently they had an unused Kushan Ion Frigate and Missile Destroyer, too. You can see the Ion Frigate on the back of the jewel case, but the Missile Destroyer is buried deep in the code.
    While the Hiigarans had some sweet designs, they weren't as iconic as their Homeworld 1 counterparts; the Vaygr's off-axis design was far more interesting, since they felt.. cruder, I guess?
    And as for 3... Yeah, 3's shit. The Incarnate ships are nothing but blocks. Like a lot of the game, the design behind it all failed miserably.

    Apparently there were tons of rewrites and changes, and it's said that Karan was originally meant to be the Incarnate Queen.
    Given that the story of Homeworld: Mobile had a throwaway line about her calling for unity between the Hiigarans, I'm wondering if that was meant to be the origins of her villain arc.
    Instead, we got giant talking heads, a "lonely lesbian" story arc, and gameplay so bland that it makes the ET game on Atari look fun.
    Oh, and eyebrow scrunching and "Sands and Sinners". Fucking hell.

    Probably need a beefy GPU though and running it on your own hardware.

    Ya know, I still could probably market my feet. :p Having visible, natural gaps between the toes is a highly desired trait [according to the quick Google search I did], and I've got that between my big toes and the next.
    Given I spend almost all my time walking around barefoot [housebound, so I really only go out into the garden] and have been for over 18 years now, maybe I could market my man feet as being "au naturale" from shoes and socks, lol.
    ...Actually, it wouldn't surprise me if people did pay for pics for feet like that.

    Someone posted a Chinese translation online, but apparently it wasn't a good one, and I can't find the link for it.

    Now that you pointed it out, it is amazing how a change of ownership has affected my view. I still have some distrust towards the staff and will eye their decisions with a (personally) critical eye, but my beef in particular was with the prior owners' ass-covering attempts. I'm giving the new owner a major benefit of the doubt here, as he seems to be going in the right direction by his postings compared to the "draconian double down and try to force things back on track for our vision of board-culture despite shilling for the owning company" views of the prior owners (and he suffered from the same shit all of us ex-SBers did from bullshit staff actions/agendas, too).
    I'm optimistic and hopeful. I just, again, hope time will tell.

    shrug Those were and are my feelings on the matter, and I stated them plainly. The change of ownership restored my faith in the site, even if the membership base itself has gone a bit batshit insane in some areas.

    I truly had faith in this site at its founding. For a while, my faith was justified, and people could communicate and debate where on Other Forums they'd be shut down or harassed.
    Now, however, the actions of the staff, particularly the owners/administrators, have shattered this faith. They are self-serving, caring only for their company and any future revenue it'll bring in, and seek to only cover their own asses in this turbulent political climate.

    To be blunt and a bit uncharitable, she and her friends basically threw a fit and tried to take their toys home when her "Venetian Coffee House" plan didn't work out because people are people. The board culture became as it is now, and she didn't like that, likely motivated because she realized that she couldn't market the forum with such a board culture.
    Of course, others know more and are free to correct me if I'm mistaken, but that's what I remember. shrug
