U.S Marines get issued T-60 Power Armor in 2001

Ooooh yes the American 180! Amazing and hilarious firearm it is. Such a firearm might potentially cut through soft armor, but it's going to be far less effective against steel plate of equal ballistic rating.

Generally soft armor is surprisingly good at taking multiple hits though, even a pretty basic-bitch kevlar vest is going to eat a mag-dump of .45 without penetration. Although your torso is going to be absolutely fucked up from the impacts though. Its primarily ceramics which fail under repeated...

XD Damn man, might as well shit on A New Hope as well.

They also made the Blades hate their own fucking Emperor, I think what Bethesda thinks is irrelevant to how objectively right it is.

Well, that renders canon an unfortunately lame term then if it just means 'shit corporate retards believe in'.

<;D Yeah, and if somebody drove up with a new model BMW with optional heated seating in LoTR, that'd be canon too eh?

Yes, but my point is that .45 really shouldn't work against power armor, even the weakspots. The penetration capability of handguns is...Subpar, and .45 especially sucks dick because it's a big slow fat round. Might as well hunt power armor with .577 Snider or something. MAYBEEEEEEEEEEEEE .45...

.45ACP shouldn't even penetrate some of the most basic-bitch aramid soft armors, I doubt any area of T-51b+ power armor is vulnerable to it.

Yeah, tactics has power armor too but of a different variety which we cannot apply to T-51b feats. Also the questionable nature of FO:T in general. But it does make the point clear that a good burst of .50 puts power armor people down with rather ease. Especially if it's DU ammo.

We see how well it fares against that in FO2, with the Gauss rifle doing basically the damage an ingame .50 should do (corroborated with NV having .50 and gauss doing similar damage). The answer? Not well at all, goes through it like butter.

The average pre-war gun is firing 5mm JHP and AP, it's basically necked down .223 or given how it's used in man-portable miniguns, something potentially even smaller. The fact Power armor makes you all but immune to this sort of ordinance would be wonderful for pre-war armies. In any case power...

Depends on the load, you can load .223 hotter than milspec 5.56, but generally 5.56 is on the hotter side, especially with the newest ammo they're making, which actually fucked up their guns a bit. NCR doesn't have too many snipers, although yeah the .308 with AP should dome T-51b's on a good...

.223 is 5.56...Well okay technically it sort-of isn't but it's so identical you can interchange them in most firearms safely. .308 is a lot more rare in NCR, they never actually use the BAR in NV as it's dead-money exclusive.

Not even particularly exaggerated when you can basically lift weights to become more resistant to bullets in fallout, plus NCR rifles primarily being .223.

It specifies 'outer shell' for the power armor, presumably it has a spall-liner under it, various other stuff for user comfort, etc. You can in fact damage T-51b people with .223 with some luck, so it's evidently not fully bulletproof.

It's full-body NBC equipment that doesn't tire you out, and in fact makes you stronger and able to last a long time without water, not to mention proving excellent protection against anything short of a heavy machinegun. The things could cost a ten million a piece and the US government would...
