    • Sunday, 31 December 2023: The final New Years Eve Address from Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, where she drops the bombshell of abdicating from the throne after 52 years effective 14 January 2024 when her eldest son, Crown Prince Frederik will become King Frederik X.

    She becomes the first Danish Monarch to abdicate from the throne since 1523.
