I was thinking David Palmer when. I saw the title. I'm glad he was mentioned in the poll. He led America through some seriously trying times. It was like a terrorist attack a year.

I thought it'd count against him but alas... It turned out to be the new normal and he didn't he beat job in leadership. His brother was a Good President too.

Here's list of the WORST Fictional TV/Movie Presidents ever:
1.) Charles Logan (R-CA) of Fox's 24: 46th President from April 26, 2006 to August 25, 2007: Ascended to the Presidency upon Keeler's assassination following Air Force One attack in Season 4; committed lots of illegal activities during his administration and was removed from office due to his involvement in the assassination of former President David Palmer.

2.) Noah Daniels (D-TN) of Fox's 24: 49th President from April 17, 2009 to January 20, 2013: Ascended to the Presidency upon Wayne Palmer's death.

Pardoned disgraced former President Charles Logan; influenced by terrorist facilitator Noah Hodges, etc.,

Lost reelection bid in 2012.

3.) Allison Taylor (R-MO) of Fox's 24: 50th President from January 20, 2013 to May 26, 2014: first female President of the United States.

COMPLICIT in the assassination of IKR President Omar Hassan; threatening Hassan's wife of using nuclear retaliation against the IKR if Hassan's wife didn't sign the peace treaty.

Also complicit in the murder of former FBI special agent Renee Walker.

Resigned in disgrace and it's possible Taylor went to prison.

No, he was just an author who consulted with the CIA in that book. The entire plot occurred mostly because Ryan was a tourist visiting the UK and got caught in the crossfire of an IRA attack.
By books I mean the series named after him, he became president after the kamikaze attack on the US capitol.
If you are talking about the Sum of all Fears then it IIRC happens 2-3 books after that.
